Which NEW TV shows are people looking at checking out this season? For me The Deuce is obviously top of my list, but also curious about The Mayor

 

I'm already committed to too many returning shows. I haven't really kept up with what's new, unfortunately. I know I'll be checking out Mindhunter (Netflix) when that drops, though. I may start Shameless after I finish Mad Men. My friends keep telling me it's good, but I'm skeptical.

I just wrote down all the Sept/Oct premiere dates for shows I watch and realized I'm fucked. There's too much tv!

 

Is Frazier actually as good as the internet talks it up to be lately?

 

I have heard Frasier compared to Seinfeld but it seems so bad.

I don't know yet.

I've only ever been a casual viewer of the show, but as time goes on and more and more of my favorite comedians/writers/actors talk about how heavily influential the Simpsons was to them, the more I've wanted to see (at least the praised seasons) in full.

I plan on watching until I don't feel like watching anymore. At least the first 10-12 seasons though for sure.

 

Right on. It gets really amazing around season 4 and probably stops being fantastic around season 8, but it's still watchable for a while after that.

 

I want to start it from the beginning as well. I've seen everything from 1-10 but out of order and over the years. Would be dope to commit to an official rewatch.

 

When I was a little kid, like ten years old maybe, I was way into Just Shoot Me! I don't know why, I thought it was hilarious for some reason. I haven't seen an episode since those days, I'm not sure how that show was received but I'm curious to check it out

 

I remember liking it too, I think I've seen some reruns in recent years and it was pleasant enough, like King Of Queens or Everybody Loves Raymond

Takashi Miike's 100th film, and it looks wild.

 

(re)watching the first couple of episodes of Party Down (because I forgot where I left off--forgot basically everything, really, since it's been so long) and I think I'm enjoying it more this time around. Maybe it's because I'm a bit older, or I've seen more shows. Anyway, it's so interesting to watch it now and go "hey that's the guy from Frozen!"

Unrelated: I've been seeing promos for Ingrid Goes West and for some reason it kind of reminds me of Spring Breakers and Bling Ring, both of which I still have yet to see. Any other movies along those lines that I should add to the list?

 

Spring Breakers is pretty great. I'm due for a re-watch.
