I'd love another Madrid derby final.

Sakho isn't challenging the drug test result, will plead "mitigating circumstances", but will probably get a lengthy ban, regardless. Will almost certainly be missing the Euros this summer.

Best case scenario would be a six month ban, by the sounds of things, however depending on his intent and his level of negligence could potentially face up to two years.

Would he have gotten in the French NT otherwise? Must admit i haven't paid much attention to them.

He was a regular in their squad, would certainly have gone to the Euros. I think Koscielny and Varane were their first choice CBs, but he would have been first reserve for either.

Sakho was first choice for France I think.

It would be ridiculous if he got over 6 months since Toure got that length

Yeah, wasn't Sakho keeping one of those two (I wanna say Kos) on the bench? I feel like I've seen people discussing that before.

Not necessarily ridiculous. The minimum for knowingly taking a banned substance is two years. If they can prove / decide that Sakho knowingly took this substance despite it being on the banned list, he'll deservedly face a much harsher sentence than Toure, who took the pills in ignorance.

Too many ifs at the moment to say for certain.

lol NYCFC cut RBNY's ticket allocation from 1500 to 600, guess we were too loud for them last season.

Guess my Michigan club of choice is going to end up getting sucked up by the MLS monster. Whether the current ownership group joins this new Detroit MLS club or not. Bittersweet.

It's amazing how Coman and Vidal haven't been booked for diving.

    Edit: oh right English ref.

Watching Atletico grind it out and frustrate the big names is so impressive to watch. The work ethic is insane.

Seriously. You see them pressing like shit for the first twenty and think there's no way this will last. Then all of a sudden you're watching them do it in the 90th.

Yeah they have the perfect balance of knowing when to charge around closing down and when to just retreat to the edge of their box and with everyone behind the ball absorbing the pressure. I'm not sure they'll be able to do it again in the second leg but I wouldn't count them out.

NYCFC game is on tape delay on the YES network, which most people probably don't get anymore because of comcast

I read this morning that tonight is the first time ever that two MLS sides and their USL teams are playing one another on the same day (SKC vs. Van and SPR vs. Van2)

Atletico are the best at shutting up shop and closing a game out there right now.

Love him or hate him Simeone is doing some job.

Kind of hope Sporting lose, even though a draw is probably better for RSL.
