I create content for some of your favorite artists

when Vin chugs his guitar in Can't Get It Out and you think its going to go off and then it just doesn't is pure gold

Nah, it's not useless because it's fun! And also a good to show people what your favorites are of something that they can use as suggestions when getting into said subject.

I've gone through Science Fiction 5 or 6 times now and I think that much of it is great and well done musically and lyrically but something just isn't totally connecting, I don't know why. I love Deja through Daisy, with Daisy or TDAG being my favorite depending on my mood but there is something about Science Fiction that seems to be lacking, I don't know some sort of spark. I love Waste, Same Logic/Teeth, 137, In the Water but songs like Lit Me Up, Batter Up, Could Never be Heaven are just kind of boring and too long in my opinion. I am a huge Brand New fan, seeing them at the Subterranean in Chicago (which is an incredibly tiny venue) before Daisy came out is still one of my favorite shows ever, so I am not someone who doesn't like the band trolling this thread. Just wanted to express my thoughts because I don't have anyone else to really talk to about the album ha. I am currently listening to A Black Mile to the Surface as I am writing this and I think that album is more engaging than Science Fiction, I suppose I like how triumphant parts of it sound unlike Science Fiction which is just too weary or something.

I'm really glad Sapone was back for this. Not that he was ever doubted to be, but he does such a great job here. His influence over other records crosses over sometimes. I totally get a Garden Window vibe on Lit Me Up.

So I can totally understand liking TDAG but not liking Deja or YFW, but I always felt TDAG and Daisy were the most similar sonically. I really wasn't a huge fan of heavier music before Daisy but it definitely opened that door for me. Daisy feels like someone who's so inconsolable about something that they are either lashing out in rage or are completely resigned to be that way forever. Really captures what living with BPD is like on bad days.

omg the FAD hate still drives me nuts. im sad that that hate kinda seeped into the bands songwriting because it seems like they never play anything from it or really have any desire to try and make something like it again. thats w/e because i love the last two and im sure ill enjoy the new one but its kinda like a Paper Walls situation in that i wonder what the band wouldve released had they just kept it together a liiiiittle bit longer and released a proper followup instead of going on hiatus for a bit

as someone who grapples with BPD i 100% agree. its a mess and i think thats the point. plus i love aggressive heavier music so BN drawing more inspiration from that sound was a matchmade in heaven

I'd be okay with them playing the album in full.

A set list like this could work really well(Atssuming an hour and a half set):

    Science Fiction in Full
    Jesus Christ
    You Won't Know
    At The Bottom
    Mix Tape
    Sic Transit Gloria...Glory Fades

Throw in Degausser, Tommy Gun, Limousine and swap Mix Tape for Out of Range and that would be perfect

FOB made a mistake releasing the two worst songs on folie as singles

I guess I mean rankings not just lists. Just a list of my favorites is easier and just as effective as trying to arbitrarily decide how a brand new album stacks up against arca's album or Vince staples album etc my favorites every year come from wildly different genres it's weird trying to rank them

If the set was 2 hours we could throw in those sings.

But NOOOOO, we are not getting rid of Mix Tape.

I want to hear as much of Science Fiction on the tour as possible but I don't want them to play it front-to-back. How good would some of these songs be alongside some of their regular live cuts?

An encore of Batter Up -> You Won't Know without the band stopping is the dream. Oh, with the Tatou style outro too.

Nearly 200 pages and no song rankings? Impossible.

Also, because this tour is only like 10 shows, would not surprise me if it were album in full, especially considering they've been touring off same material for 8 straight years.

Not to compare, but gun to my head SciFi reminds me most of TDAG demos.
