Didn't realize people hated IAAN so much. I thought it was an enjoyable song.

 

wonder when it'll get put up on streaming services. thought it would be last night.

 

It was and is enjoyable.


But it's like when Pixar releases a good film instead of a masterpiece that we know they're capable of. Almost feels like it was from the B-team. Like what Bioshock 2 is to Bioshock.

 

I think I liked IAAN more than most of this album but I am a VERY casual brand new fan. This album is really good of course, I think I just prefer their catchier moments.

 

Funny you just said that. Giving the record it's first good listen and just listened to that song and thought the same exact thing.

 

wish the end of out of mana was a legit song. what a dream.

i liked IAAN more than most brand new songs before it

people i think are frowning upon it more now because this thing is an incredibly cohesive record along the line of D&G. the record with songs like IAAN would be a drastically different beast.

...and I don't know if i'd like it much but i'd probably listen to it more, i can't imagine this record getting a whole lot of run from me because it's meant to be listened to as a whole and it's very dense and heavy. the lighter poppy record seems like one i'd play a ton if it was in that vein

 

Does anyone else feel like Brand New kinda Thrice Alchemy Index-ed us? I've noticed that there are a lot of water references on this album and I always felt like there were a ton of fire references in Daisy...

 

Mene and IAAN we're to throw us off the sense...

Or more realistically the band new they didn't belong on the album and just released them because it has been so many fucking years since anything.

 

I'll look forward to this then, haha. Hoping I can collect at venue, if not postage to Scotland could have me up at closer to $200

Yes! I feel the exact same way. I'm also only a casual BN fan, at best. I used to be a lot more into them, during the YFW/Deja eras.

 

Saw them live for the first time at Brixton in 2006. To this day might be the best show I've ever been too. Love that venue.

I love you all. I respect your opinions but I have NO idea how people could favor YFW or Deja over The Devil and God, this, or even Daisy. I don't understand.

 

That's the best part of this album, absolutely 0 bad songs. It's amazing that they put our an album this good in 2017 because Daisy had like no good songs to me.

 

So since this isn't on spotify, if I buy the digital from their site on my iPhone, how does that work? I don't have a laptop to plug into currently

 

Banquet Records in UK are just stocking the boring black version of the LP. Was hoping for a limited edition colour like the Ozzies got :(

EDIT: But it is only £24.99 as opposed to £30.

Daisy has some of their best songs, some really good songs, and also one of their worst

 

The Devil and God is my favorite BN album. Although I loved YFW/Deja back in the day, those albums haven't really aged that well. Deja has more so than YFW, of course. But yeah, I pretty much only listen to Devil and God if I feel like listening to Brand New, which is actually pretty rare to begin with, so whatever, haha.

We just a new album let's not go back to bashing Daisy like ppl already have for the past 8 years :)
