Hey, I'm actually having trouble setting up a couple ranges of IP's on servers at the moment haha. Are you familiar with the process?

I think.... to be honest, this is completely new territory for me. I'm trying to add five ip ranges to a CentOS server. I got three of the ranges up by going into /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts and adding and ifcfg file. But for some reason, the other two ranges aren't working.

I finally managed to get a part-time job that doesn't suck. I'm currently working at a pest control company as a office helper to the owner. Basically, I spend my days designing forms and presentations for him, scanning items and other projects he needs done.

My "official" title is a "Full Stack Web Developer/Software Engineer".

However, in the company I work for that means that not only am I a web developer and a software engineer, but I'm also the IT person, quality analyst, handyman, and furniture mover.

I wear a lot of hats.

Potentially a long shot, but does anyone here do graphic design? I'm trying to create a tshirt but I can't mock up the logo myself. It's very simple and very clear, if that entices anyone to talk to me.

  18. I work for a textile manufacturer. We design and manufacture jacquard-woven materials such as furniture upholstery (residential and commercial), decorative pillow fabric, wall coverings, medical-grade fabrics, boat/rv fabrics, drapery, bedding, and even some apparel. We're the largest domestic jacquard manufacturing operation, and second-largest in the world. Chances are good that your butt has touched something I've made (oh, and believe me, I thought about your butt while making it too;-)). But actually I don't make the fabric myself... I work in our sales support department as a special project manager, meaning I do the planning and logistics for specific custom projects requested by our customers.

Sounds neat! How did you end up in that job/career?

  20. Pure. Luck.

I used to work in the banking industry until the economy went apeshit in the late 2000s and I got laid off. After spending a few months looking for a new job with no luck, I joined up with a friend who was starting a new restaurant and catering company, and I came on as the catering/events manager. I quickly formed a relationship with many local companies to cater their business functions. So one day out of the blue I get a call from one of the companies I've been catering to for about 2 years, and they were calling to offer me a job because they liked my work effort and planning/organizational skills (the latter part is hilarious because I'm a little messy and I work in 'organized-piles' instead of filing things neatly). I accepted and I've been here ever since. I'm still very much learning this industry, but its been pretty cool so far.

(It's worth pointing out that my education background is about as unrelated to every job I've had as possible. I majored in broadcast meteorology [to be a tv weatherman]).

I’m based in Centerville, OH. During the day I work for ACCO Brands as a Production Artist. I date calendars and create carton labels. During the day I listen to podcasts about business, design and music to learn more as I work.

Some evenings and on weekends I focus on my passion, creating artwork for bands and spending time with friends and family. I'm putting the overlap technique into practice.

I'm a neuroscience PhD student. It's...not fun. But I love a lot of the people I work with, and the best thing about it is that it's really flexible. I ride horses and I know I couldn't find another job where I can take off at 3 in the afternoon to go to the barn, so I'm sticking it out for now.
