    I'm Back.

This "error" is even all over the Reddit forums. Memes along with it.

But.... it's not a plothole... cause it has nothing to do with a plot. It's a tv show and they're killing it with the acting, aesthetic, and storylines. Why people decide to sit and look for shit like that while watching their favorite tv shows is beyond me. I think the whole meme thing is just people who really don't care about the show having internet fun.

Yea, It's fucking stupid is what it is. The assumption is that they got spooked and bolted...period.

Should've just had Brienne hit all the dogs like

    People would've loved that.

Only reason it's worth pointing out is because Theon was so fearful of them, if you want to go with them being spooked it takes all of a second to explain it away.

    Still a minor thing tho.

i didnt notice the dogs but i assume any dogs that weve literally seen eat people alive and have been arond ramsay their entire lives dont "spook" easily.

Yeah, the first time they thought it was too dangerous since he was with Wildlings, and then the second time Jojen convinced him that if Jon saw him, he wouldn't let him continue his journey north.

The actual events of the episode didn't give me a whole lot to think about past setup, which works fine, even if the episode felt a little disjointed in that it had to reintroduce every separate plotline. I hope things get consolidated in a big way, it's a structural problem with the books and show that the show has handled a bit better (mostly), where the first season and first book are so tight and work so well and nothing feels extraneous, and now everything is so spread out it can be hard to invest in things that feel worlds away from any meaningful impact. Of course I trust that there's a plan and it's all going to come together, but it's just dramatically unsatisfying in the moment. Not nearly as bad as it is in the books though, I don't know that I'll pick up another book in the series again.

I think the bloodhounds are more House Bolton's hunting dogs in general than Ramsay's torture pets. I think Ramsay had a pit or some other bull-terrier type dog chasing the blonde girl in Season 4, whereas Bloodhounds are usually just tracker dogs. I think in general they have very mild/gentle temperaments like most other hounds. The barking sounds vicious but they're really just excited that they've got the scent and all that.

theon says that hes seen what those dogs do to people and that freezing and crossing the river is better than encountering them, he's talking about the same dogs that we saw in season 4.

I liked the episode and I'm excited for what's to come, but... Since the writers no longer have any source material I kind of feel like none of this is actually happening. That this isn't the way the story is meant to play out. I would feel better about it if I knew it was written in cooperation with GRRM but i guess that isn't the case.

I'm gonna come back when everyone has the hounds talk out of their system. Ghost is the only animal that matters to me besides Brienne. Love it when she goes beast mode.

What about Nymeria? That gif above is too cute.

Also how awesome would it be if Rickon was reintroduced riding on Shaggydog's back?

Everyone should check out "After the Thrones", the recap show HBO is doing this year. It's hosted by everyone's favorite ex-Grantland employees Andy Greenwald and Chris Ryan, and they do a really fun job dissecting the episode/recapping everything and speculating about what's to come. Very enjoyable stuff.

Some people in here are getting irrationally upset that people are talking about the dogs disappearing. If Theon's gonna talk about em they should be there. It's clumsy on the show's part that they just vanished. As a viewer, it doesn't mean much because it's just "Who cares?!" (as evidenced in this thread already), but if you're a filmmaker or a producer or whatever that's a silly mistake.

And it is just that, silly. I comically pointed it out while my friends and I were watching. It absolutely does not weigh the scene down for me, but people are absolutely allowed to notice something like that and talk about it without comments like "It's fucking stupid" or "I'm gonna come back when it gets out of everyone's system." It's something that has been acknowledged by a few of us as something minor. Doesn't mean we can't talk about it.

    Y'all need to relax.

what the fuck people. If anything you'd think people would be more interested in what the fuck happened with everything related to Dorn; specifically the sand snakes and the boat.

Too much apathy to anything involving dorne to care it seems.

Dorne is a worsening mess, but probably less so without the context of the books. This and the Brienne unification with Sansa (even with the latter being very satisfying) have me worried that the storytelling is going to be even more rushed without the aid of Martin's novels.
And the dogs disappearing is lazy storytelling, and yes arguably even a plot hole because it creates an inconsistency in the scene's conflict, but it is very minor and its not like we're talking about the gold standard of great television here, its Game of Thrones. For all its grandeur its consistently lazy in its storytelling --even excluding the Xena: Warrior Princess level Dorne stuff. The characters and conflicts have me hooked, and I fully admit I'm tuning every Sunday no matter how many minor missteps (or major in the case of Dorne) each episode holds.
