It was my favorite time ever seeing them. It was sold out, and my roommate (at the time) didn't have a ticket, but went with us anyway thinking he could buy a ticket at the door or someone outside selling and no one was even checking tickets. He literally just walked in.

I actually got into ManOrch in 2013 when I made my buddy who didn't like The Wonder Years road trip with me to Chicago and he showed me Kevin Devine, ManOrch and Bad Books and I was astonished at why it took so long for me to check all of them out

When the show was over, the Indians were either playing on the West Coast, or in extra innings (can't remember) so we wanted to go to a bar to catch the end of the game. The nearest bar was...Executive's Den. So we went to the strip club and sat at the bar to watch the Indians game while everyone else watched strippers. Haha.

    What a great night.

That was my fourth time seeing MO, at that point.

I had a sort of similar experience around the same time. Prior to 2013 I never listened to music, only really enjoying 80s rock when my dad played it. My buddy and I would leave school every day for lunch senior year and he would play Church of The Good Thief and I distinctly remember hearing Rotten Black Root and I was blown away. Thought the guys voice sounded unique but it moved me. The next year the Cope tour started and a giant group of friends and my ex and I went to see them at HoB after a meet n greet at Park Ave CDs. I had previously only been to two concerts in my life years before, AC/DC and Van Halen. MO was absolutely phenomenal, but my buddy who introduced me had to work that night at the restaurant, so I promised him the next closest show they announced we would go.

Next show ended up being on the Hope tour in Charleston, we road tripped up there and I fell in love with the city.

Since then I've seen MO 6 times, Andy on solo tour once. I get a group of friends to road trip to The Stuffing each year, and I've been introduced to so many other artists parallel to MO, Kevin, Julien, Brand New, Thrice, All Get Out, etc. I am going to 3 shows on this tour as well.

I've gone to a concert at least once every single month for the last two years.

And I have now almost every single pressing of vinyl that has been Andy hull involved.

It's definitely changed my life a bit. Now I've kept in touch with Andy and gotten him to write a personal message on a limited piece for my friend who introduced me as a thank you for his wedding gift. Hopefully they can finally meet soon.

People are MAD about the parts being eliminated. It had like a third of the vote nearly on the first round though

Meanwhile I'm quietly bummed about The Mistake. I mean, as bummed as one can be about an these rankings.

That ending, with the "woooo! and now the wheels are falling off of the car, beside the hundred meter grave in the yard" is phenomenal. I feel like people would like it more if they didn't know about Movin' Out.

I didn't realize how great this Atlanta setlist was that i saw because i had just gotten into the band recently. They encored with 6 this time too. this Birmingham one was pretty sweet too though.

They are recording at the A.V. Club. I wonder if Andy will track down the reviewer lol

Yea that seems awkward haha. They really need to perform a song other than the 3 we have heard many times

I know I already posted this but for some reason I'm coming back to cope hard right now and really loving it, it's certainly not the bands most dynamic record but I think the vocal performance on this record is really underrated.

For whatever reason Cope is my least listened to, I find myself listening to Hope more often, but I will say Hope certainly helped me enjoy Cope more. Wish they had a live record of it, the Top Notch Live on Youtube is fantastic. Top Notch, Choose You, Girl Harbor, The Mansion, Every Stone, last 3rd of See It Again, and Cope are really the only ones I touch on Cope consistently.

I thought the album was great through the first few tracks on my first listen. Then The Sunshine came on and I realized this album is next level.

We reach for the longest shadow

doing this in the circa thread, but what is your manchester starter pack? 3 from each album + 2 b sides if you choose? Ill start.

    Virgin
    Where Have You Been?
    I Can Barely Breathe
    Colly Strings

    METN
    Pride
    Everything to Nothing
    The River

    Simple Math
    Pensacola
    Simple Math
    Apprehension

    COPE
    Every Stone
    See It Again
    Cope

    HOPE
    Top Notch
    Girl Harbor
    All That I Really Wanted

    Black Mile
    The Alien
    The Grocery
    The Wolf

My list is definitely more loud/epic songs compared to the more vulnerable acoustic songs, and I told myself i wouldn't put a HOPE version of a COPE song on here either. That's my favorite part of Manchester, so I'm sure someone else's list will be completely different, and that's what makes this band awesome.
