Man. I'd be curious to know what other album threads have generated as many posts as this one.

    "I'll chew on a dog!"

Only new songs played tonight in Chicago were The Gold (opener) and The Alien.

They did promise to play The Sunshine when they come back in September though!

Many great albums have been released this year, but not too many demand my attention constantly. The Sunshine has been looped in my head all week, along with The Moth and The Gold. Lorde's Melodrama and Paramore's After Laughter are the only two other albums that I fell head over heels in love with and couldn't get enough of. Serious AOTY contender. Andy's lyrics are clever, devastating and gorgeous, like always. The melodies throughout the whole album are so catchy! Also, The Silence is my favourite MO album closer now (I'm sorry, my dearest Colly Strings). Andy yelling "I've been trying to find the right way to get out of here / this is the only waaaaaay" in The Grocery gives me goosebumps every time. The whole album reminds me of the haunting, beautiful, restrained atmosphere A Moon Shaped Pool has - it's quiet and lovely when it needs to be, and loud and cathartic when it's required. I just really love this album, I might attempt to write a review on my blog soon. Sorry for rambling! This album is truly incredible

EDIT: The Mistake is great. That "wooooo" sounds like it's straight out of the Swiss Army Man soundtrack.

No River and Pride. Bummer. They were supposed to close with The Parts but didn't

Am I the only person who absolutely loves the song "trees" on both cope and hope, I think it's one of Andy's best melodies

It's probably close to the bottom for me. I enjoy the Hope version a bit better.

I think cope is starting to have a revival for me, not sure why. Maybe I'm just craving more stuff with "newer" andy vocals hah

What is everyone's thoughts on me eliminating two songs in the first round of the elimination if they are very close in votes and those two take up over 50% of the votes with 100 entries and counting. Just so we aren't almost two weeks later wrapping it up. Helps speed it up a day.

P.S. I think you guys will be surprised by what is in 3rd and 4th place and has a chance to get voted out in Round 2

I could not love Cope more - it was my favorite record by the band until Black Mile, and is definitely my most listened to of the band. I think it's a flawless pop-rock album with heavy guitars.

I'd be surprised if we see more beyond Gold, Alien and Parts. and if we do I expect maybe a tiny little Sunshine outro after Alien. Sadly Maze would be hard to replicate in full fashion.

I think if I had to have a perfect realistic setlist for a show on this tour in 14 songs it would be

    Pride
    Shake It Out
    Pensacola
    The Gold
End of The World (I Can Barely Breathe)
    I've Got Friends
    Everything To Nothing
    April Fool
    Simple Math
    Cope
    Colly Strings
    Where Have You Been?

    Encore:
    The Silence
    The River

But I'll probably lose two of those (April Fool/Pride/The River/The Silence) for The Alien and The Parts. (Which I loved the parts on the solo tour, but usually people don't shut up enough for me to enjoy it on a full band tour)

12/14 songs seems so short to me for headline shows.

They average about 14 usually, having two openers.

They were running out of time, so I think that's why they had to drop a few. Was great to hear Colly Strings and Cope is probably my favorite song by them. So heavy.
