I've been back and forth my whole life. I always say I'll get there and then I have my doubts, on of the reasons this bands lyrics have resonated with me. I hope I get there though

This looks really cool, but I want to show off the colored pressings. May have to do that larger frame with the cutouts.

    Someday I’ll find me Prestigious

I am continually instilling my youth with the knowledge that both doubt and questioning are crucial to developing sound theology and a healthy faith, but following that with the encouragement to doubt your doubts and believe your beliefs. There needs to be a balance between the two.

I listen to the music I listen to because it feeds into my growth as a person, and a person of faith. My musical fanship of Jesse Lacey, Dustin Kensrue, Aaron Weiss, and Andy Hull stem from that basis.

Not sure if you listen to My Epic but I could see Broken Voice resonating with you if you're interested in something that points you further in that direction. It's intensely faith-based if that doesn't interest you, but it's also as thoughtful and honest as anything out there. I love Brand New and Manchester because I relate heavily, but sometimes I need something more sure than I am to get me past myself. My Epic's been a refuge in that manner.

Meanwhile, I'm not sure if it's too early to call A Black Mile to the Surface one of my favorite albums of all-time but it's starting to look that way.

I'd say this too...if it wasnt for that AWESOME woo towards the end of The Mistake. Perfectly placed in the song & on the album. What a sweet release & psudo-celebration of losing it mentally.

Yeah, the last two minutes of The Silence are absolutely unreal.

Yes...but a thing isn't beautiful because it lasts

Are your parents people of faith? The lyrics pining longingly over the father's faith seem to come from a place of both confusion and wonder, they hit me bad (pastor's kid). I don't understand or agree with theology depending on the HOUR, and yet it has been 100% unmistakably, unwaveringly, the source of their joy for 30 years.

I've always kind of passively enjoyed all of their work, but the hype in this thread made this one a must listen and I was hooked for the long haul the moment Andy started singing in "The Maze"

I don't know if anyone has said this and it might be an obvious comp. but a lot of this reminds me of some of my favorite My Morning Jacket stuff but with more directly emotive vocals

On Thursday I will be waking up at 5am to drive six hours to my new place in Long Beach and I can't wait to have this be forever ingrained in my mind as the official 2017 road trip album.

Finding MO, along with Brand New and mewithoutYou and Kevin Devine and that whole group of artists that are in my mind descendants of David Bazan, really gave a voice to the questions I had regarding my faith as a teenager and pushed me to think through a lot of the belief system that I had built my life around. So a lot of "The Grocery" really hits me hard.

Will I ever not get extremely emotional during the last third of The Silence? Doubtful

I definitely hear the sound of this being reminiscent of some classic MMJ, even if the songs themselves aren't overly similar. I definitely don't hear the Billy Joel similarity though, even trying to listen for it...

I must say this post, along with the Julien Baker avatar, and the "Rose-Colored Boy" quote, forces me to assume that you're a very cool person. Teach me your ways.
