How many indie rock bands choose to work with Catherine marks after this record? She did such a phenomenal job!

 

I don't think so, it's hard to write a 7 minute song that sounds so perfect and doesn't feel long or overdone

The Parts is so lovely. I had ILAV on in the car yesterday and was wondering if there'd be another acoustic song like I Can Feel Your Pain or Don't Let Them See You Cry on this record.

 

You can be a junkie, considering one drug your primary, and take orhers occassionally. Not sure why you fealt the need to defend LSD haha.

 

I too know that the moth is my least favorite. Whole record is immaculate though. Fits right where it is.

 

Long time lurker, signed up to say just how surprised at how AMAZING this album is. Holy shit it's so good. The Silence may be my favorite closer on any album at the moment.

How was that listening party last night?

 

i'm too into other albums and the weather is too nice to connect with this, which sucks.

i've listened to this twice and while i like it i'm not getting any farther than that it's probably because this isn't the album to be listening to when sitting poolside on a bright sunny day. maybe nighttime will work better.

 

I feel you.

This is why i have avoided the new Fleet Foxes.

Wont be able to connect with it until the fall. I know it.

 

i find as i get older that the atmosphere / season really impacts some albums and how i first connect with them / enjoy them. once the connection is there then any season works, no problem, but first getting there is sometimes hard.

this album definitely shouldn't have come out in July, just like Fleet Foxes shouldn't have come out in June. much better suited for, like you said, fall.

 

All my friends bailed due to picking up shifts, broken ankles and falling asleep lol. But I met a few people. It was ok. Didn't win the free tickets. Oh well
