This is pretty much the only way I listen to music now lol, but I agree it really feels like one powerful piece of art

 

Just, how do you have a run of seamless songs like The Alien > The Sunshine > The Grocery, which is already my favorite 3 song run this year, but it's bookended by Lead, SD and The Wolf, just... how? This is incredible. I'm on my 5th listen today and it's so cliche sounding, but it really does get better every single time i listen to it.

 

Hoping it grows on me. Initially offput by how slick it sounds and the dense reverb.

 

I know I love a record when I'm working on music and the record cripples me from writing because all I can think to write is something that sounds like that record.

 

Listened a couple times today and it's pretty much all I want to hear. Unbelievably good. From the first notes it's obvious the album is going to be a journey, and it definitely is. I made the mistake of listening to this before the Arcade Fire album, and even though I like that one better than most people seem to, all I really wanted to do was finish it so I could come back to this.

 

"Maniacal" is a strangely appropriate word. It reminds me of the second verse of "I've Got Friends". It sounds so dark in relation to everything around it.

 

If it helps it's all natural reverb they even recorded in small bathrooms to capture certain sounds

 

I mean, that's cool from a technical standpoint, but it just kind of leads to the whole thing sounding kind of same-y to my ears. All the space filling detracts from the dynamic punch that I love about Manchester.

 

I'm just glad the vocals arnt doubled and tripled the whole album like cope

 

On listen 2 and every track from Lead SD to The Wolf is a 10/10, except The Grocery which is somehow 11/10. I don't remember the last time a song made me feel like that.

 

Alien/Sunshine/Grocery is a fucking masterpiece run

 

The word I keep coming back to for Lead, SD is unsettling.

 

"The Silence" absolutely crushes me every time I hear it. Andy Hull has a such a great voice, he kills it throughout this record. Still not feeling "The Moth" and "Lead, SD", but man this is my favorite thing of theirs they have put out.

 

2 out of maybe my top 3 songs haha

One of many moments that continually catches me off guard.

 

I'm finding it impossible to rank these songs. if you held a gun to my head I'd say the mistake is the weakest but they're all next level good

They best play The Silence in September. Those last two minutes are going to be devastating

 

It would be an amazing closer and maybe do an extended outro that just rocks insanely hard?

As soon as his vocals came in on the maze I literally said "holy shit"
