Okay for those of you that have this already what do you think is the best way to listen for the first time? Like should I sit in a chair or lie on the floor or go for a walk or ride the bus or sit on the shitter?

imo, after my total 0 listens of Black Mile, it needs more power chords, harmonies, and rhythms

Next Show - Foals April 22nd

This might be the first album this year I won't listen to for the first time at work. I usually get excited Friday morning and put on the new releases but I'm never 100% there (obviously). If it takes me a few extra days to find the right time then so be it. I've held off on listening to the singles more than once (besides The Gold when it dropped) I can hold off for a few more days.

I played it on my sonos speakers in pitch black with a glass of bourbon.

Anyone in Chicago? Looks like MO was just announced for something called "Pandora Invasion", which appears to be a free (first come, first served) show on August 2nd:

    Don't Miss Pandora Invasion!

Really hope to hear lead, sd and the wolf live on the tour this fall. If we get those plus the gold and the alien and maybe the parts I would be pretty happy

I don't see us getting any of those. Most likely we will get Gold,Alien,Parts. There is a slight chance I could see The Silence as a closer. Wolf and Lead just seem to have a lot of sounds and layers that would be hard to mimic live.

I have a Sonos 1. It bugs me though because I can't plug my turntable into it. I either buy a €400 connect or do what I currently do and have my turntable connected to my mac mini and then playing to Sonos. Shitty short term solution.

Damn, I have a sonos soundbar and didn't know you could play through your Mac. Def going to look into this.

They're going to be touring the album, so we'll get at least half of the album live.

    Eh, maybe.

They played Ocean, Mansion, Cope and Top Notch when they were touring Cope for my stop in Orlando. Adding another album it wouldn't shock me if they played 4 and maybe even the 3 they have been from the new album.

Yeah, Manchester has never been known to play super varied sets, in my experience. Still remember the Cope shows feeling way similar to the METN and Simple Math (which they didn't play much of) tours. That's one thing that's always bugged me: for a band with so many good songs, they never really play any deep cuts.

Airsonos, look it up. Piggy backs off airplay. Basically I line in to my mac mini, the airplay out to my speakers. Lose some of the vinyl quality as it has to go to digital but as I said short term solution. Makes up for that being able to play records in multiple rooms.

Full band The River is a spiritual experience. The last two times they were just 20 second walk away acoustic "take me to....the river..." as the crowd sings it out and they walk off stage before the encore.

But the first time I saw them, the full band blasting into the River was incredible.

Top live songs for me are: The River, Pride, Colly Strings, Shake it Out, I Can Barely Breathe, Where Have You Been and Pensacola. (not to start another rank fest ;) )
