If I ever got sick of that song, I'm over that sickness now. I think Numb was the biggest example of me getting sick of a song from that record, but now I can appreciate that again as well. I think the only songs that are still tainted from being overplayed for me are In The End, One Step Over, and Crawling.

That opening piano on crawling though.

Did you see the strip down version they were playing during the last tour? Haunting to say the least but really good.

Context is crazy. I grew out of Linkin Park once I got out of middle school and always thought they were "edgy" and stuff like that but now it's clear these were Chester's genuine emotions

The Reanimation version of Crawling is so phenomenal.

Also, forgot how insanely good With You is off HT.

the chorus to With You is absolutely immense. didn't appreciate that one properly back in the day.

Faint is probably the quintessential LP song. That bridge is legendary.

yeah, the bridge is crazy. someone said it before, but i think LP was the first band that i enjoyed that screamed.

As overplayed as "Faint" was it's definitely the song I'd show someone if I was trying to introduce them to the band. It really does capture everything LP does best.

As I stopped listening to the radio over the years, it definitely feels new again now that I don't hear it 2-3 times a day!

What's crazy is how good that Live In Texas DVD was for a show that wasn't even a headlining show. That show was opening for Metallica.

that was really one of my first experiences with a live cd/dvd, and having listening to countless ones since, it is incredible how well that one sounds.

It was an incredible show too. Metallica booked them and said something like you're too good to be an "opener" so we'll let you play however long you'd like each night. When I saw the tour in NYC they played for like 90 minutes and the crowd absolutely loved it. Oddly enough they went on before Limp Bizkit, and this was right around the time their popularity quickly dropped.

That's a really cool move on Metallica's part.

There's not a song on HT or Meteora that I can't listen to due to overplaying tbh. I must have heard In The End roughly a billion times and it still bangs.

  16. I'm listening to The Hunting Party for the first time (maybe?) and I'm surprised at how heavy it is. LPs disco is better than 90% of their contemporaries in hard rock/nu metal/etc.

I remember the first time I saw them in 2012 they opened up with this. Blew my mind.

Wow I haven't heard Faint probably in years. Def overplayed at the time but it's so good

I'm glad people are revisiting, and in some cases discovering, the band's entire discography. Obviously this is the byproduct of horrible circumstances and it goes without saying that I wish it weren't this way, but it is nice to see the band gaining some more appreciation for the music they've put out.

This weekend was the first time I ever listened to all of Living Things and The Hunting Party. Wasn't a fan of LT, but really enjoyed THP. Has to be their heaviest album.
Also shocked that One More Light got so much shit for being "poppy," considering how poppy Living Things sounds.

I listened to Hybrid Theory and Meteora this morning and, while I'm sure some of it was nostalgia creeping in, I genuinely enjoyed listening to both of them. It brought back a lot of memories, among other things.

I also need echo the sentiments re: Faint. I probably listened to that one 2,000 as a kid and I still think it slaps.

-Revisiting Meteora today for the first time since my high school days. I forgot how awesome Figure.09 was.

-Minutes To Midnight is my favorite album by them, but I stopped listening to them after that album for whatever reason.

-A few days ago I've come to realize how awesome The Hunting Party is. That was a great direction for them. I need that album on vinyl.

Its weird too....I didn't pay much attention to them for a good 9 year stretch until I started reading the criticism of Heavy and Battle Symphonies when they released those songs. My initial thoughts were "WTF" just like many others, but I also thought Chester's vocal melodies and delivery were so damn good, which ultimately created a bittersweet feeling for me. It was like...I don't want to like this and shouldn't like this, but part of me actually does.

    RIP Chester.

Oh God, it's so sad to read such reviews. Yes, there was something inexplicably strong in Chester. Really heartbreaking

I also watched the Road To Revolution: Live at Milton Keynes performance today. I forgot what a powerful performer he was. His voice, his stage presence... he had it all.
