I think that Metallica could record a cool album with Lady Gaga. I would be interested to listen to this.

Not even the biggest Metallica fan but you can't be allowed to get away with this. Disgraceful opinion.

Riot Act is probably my 2nd (or 3rd depending on my mood) favourite PJ album.

Backspacer and their self titled are great too. Just Breathe is so so good.

IMO Riot Act is a good album that could have been great if 3-4 songs were cut off it. It has some killer tracks (Can't Keep, Save You, Love Boat Captain, I Am Mine, Thumbing My Way, You Are) and some others that, at the moment, I can't recall what they even sound like by looking at the tracklisting. Bu$shleaguer, while funny and highly relevant / controversial at the time of the album's release, doesn't really hold up for me now other than immediately dating the album's release period.

Whereas, I think they learned from this on the ST and really trimmed it down to the "essentials". Considering Wasted Reprise is only 50 seconds, its 12 other tracks feel way tighter and more carefully planned.

While the band faded a bit out of the mainstream spotlight, I don't think they ever stopped making good music. Whenever I go back through their catalog, I'm always pleasantly surprised by how well most of it holds up; much better than a lot of other bands from their era!

Yeah that's definitely one of their best tracks. I like both those albums I'm not sure where I'd rank them overall though, I'd have to think about that.

I'd also say that Lightening Bolt is really strong too, although it could do with being a tad shorter. PJ are pretty much the only band from my youth I need to cross off my list of seeing live. I really hope they tour again next year.

Same. Which is crazy because at the same time, I completely love it and it was so incredibly influential... but it's not one of my personal favorite PJ albums.

It's mostly the production and the greenness of the performances that does it for. I like it a lot too, but some of those songs live are my all-time favourites but I don't get much from hearing them on the record. Also, Once and Even Flow are not my thing at all

I agree. Do you have the remastered and remixed copy of ten they did in 2009? I much prefer those versions.

PJ is one of those bands that if you didn't grow up with them, you'll probably never be into later on
