I love the intro guitar riff on "Lullaby" on the Terrible Things album. Also, just the sound of the speakers in the background on "The Arsonist's Wife". On headphones, that's a cool experience. There's a lot of great stuff on that album. "Terrible Things" is quite the toe tapper.

 

Been listening to that last Therefore I Am album a ton this week.
I felt like they would have put out something really cool if they stayed together.

 

Therefore I Am and recently started listening to Grandview's album Between Paint and a Wall and it's great, wish there was more material from these dudes.

 

The new Sorority Noise record kind of has a similar vibe to this song.

 

Yeah it does, the new Sorority Noise album is good stuff, but for some reason they never stick for me.

Don't know if anybody else remembers these guys from The Chariot's farewell tour, but are Rebuker still going? I only ever saw that one live performace but they blew me the fuck away. They were protégées of Josh Scogin, and it showed; really surprised they didn't have more momentum coming off that tour.

As far as I know, I only remember them having one EP.

 

They had a tour 2 years ago that was coming through here but then they cancelled it. Think they did put out a full length but they're basically done

Awesome! Didn't realize Rebuker ever did a full length.

I miss Sent By Ravens. Tooth & Nail never gave them the support they deserved.

 

Anyone mention Native in this thread? I thought Orthodox was a really good album and they toured on it with O'brother touring on Disillusion and then Native just kind of ceased to exist. Also I'd add any of the numerous Evan Weiss projects that existed then didn't.

 

Some Strangers ? They were supposed to release a full lenght in 2014/2015

Really enjoyed the EP. Wish they had followed through on the record.

I really wish we had gotten a second LP from Daytrader. Loved Last Days of Rome and 12 Years and go back to both frequently but 15-ish songs just isn't enough. Really only makes me wonder what a second album would have sounded like.

I love their album art, too. Daniel Danger is such an immense illustrator.

 

Silverstrand is my favorite sounding pop punk record. The production on it still feels so dialed-in. I love the contrast in heavy rectifier vs. light fender guitar tones (Ignore The Noise), the mix has a great edge to it (I love the kick and snare), and the little glitch noises/pedal effects/mixing tweaks throughout the record give it personality (beginning of Intro). I loved Hindsight and Timing is Everything, but Silverstrand was definitely their greatest. The album is cohesive but no two songs are very similar. It's one of very few albums I really wish would get a vinyl rerelease. Park and Staring Back got vinyl love a few years ago, hurts that Over It got left out.

I miss Over It but I get why they did the Runner Runner thing. It makes me feel a little better to know there are still peeps out there who not only remember them but still listen to their music.

Holy shit, perfect example! Loved that album, never got to see them live. I like their FB page and they'll still sporadically update it with the smaller projects everyone else have gone onto.

I mean, after all.... how can you breathe when your body's working against you?

Really only knew this one song, but I remember these guys being a solid band. Shame they didn't get bigger, though obviously that name was a huge stumbling block. (I think they even had an EP that made fun of that fact...)

 

I know it's an old post, but this was a band that meant a lot to me...Coast of Maine was a song that I listened to a lot when I was in a long-distance relationship.

 

Wow hadn't thought about this band in a while...that album totally fit into the move that some pop-punk bands that I was into made to "darker" subject matter. Kind of a downer but good if you know what I mean haha.
