Motionless/Amity Affliction/Miss May I

 

This is a really spot on apprisal of trends in the scene. I think part of what has driven me away from the Metalcore type scene over the past few years (besides generally trending towards different types of music) is the lack of new bands.

I'm sure I'm forgetting someone, but over the last 3-4 years the two biggest bands to arise were Issues and Beartooth. Both of which had a head start on popularity due to their members previously being involved in Woe, is Me and Attack Attack!, respectively.

I didn't realize I, Prevail had gotten so big but they seem to personify the worst aspects of the scene (stylistically, not personally. They're not Fronz over here). It just seems like dude in their late 20's trying to make songs to appeal to kids half their age with very generic messages about hope, etc. some of the cringeworthy song titles and vocals.

I disagree with the statements made about them getting to or even surpassing ADTR's level. I just can't see it happening, but who am I to say. They'll probably fall into a boom and bust cycle and end up as a warped staple that people "nostalgically" listen to and say "oh my god they still make music lol" when their friend who's still into the scene brings them up (the most annoying phrase by the way, very condescending).

 

Assuming the band to be added is someone on Warped, wonder who it is? I feel like Sworn In would maybe fit this tour.

Pure speculation, but I'd put money on Bad Omens being the special guest for the Motionless in White tour

So many people with "insider information" in this thread (that turns out to be BS half the time anyway) but give no specific detail other than letting everyone know that they know something. Great.

justin works for a booking company so at least for him these are tours that he has announcement dates for rather than someone just talking to someone or making random guesses

 

You're right, they shouldn't give anyone a heads up that something cool is coming and should instead risk their jobs/connections revealing the tour for a person they don't know on the internet.

 

i do think blind teasing is kind of stupid but hey people in here do it on even less info so
