I've still been listening to One More Light -- even more so in recent days.

Got some really solid tracks. Shame it was harshly slammed by a vocal online crowd upon release. There's a lot to like.

This and Lying From You. Couple of the hardest nu metal riffs in the game.

I listened to One More Light yesterday and it isn't nearly as terrible as some might make it out to be. I can't say I feel the urge to listen to it again besides maybe the title track, but it's a 6.5 for me, out of 10.

LP's career didn't always keep me interested the entire way through, but, i really respect the directions they took for the last two albums. to create two things so far on either side of what they had been doing for the two albums before that, and for it to come out as great as it did, takes a lot more versatility and talent than most people realize. The Hunting Party is crazy, for them to do such a raw, heavy album at that point in their career is very bold. One More Light is even more shocking, to go the moody pop route is something i also didn't expect but i never saw it as a sellout move, or a bad move, just them experimenting even further. it's really sad and heartbreaking that people have become so cruel and closed-minded that the backlash from this album might have been what pushed him over the edge.

I've been trying to put into words how I feel about this, but it's hard to pinpoint exactly what I'm feeling since there are a bunch of different emotions. Like many people have stated, they were my first favorite band that didn't involve just listening to the classic rock my dad had on the radio all the time. They were the first band where I made an effort to listen to their albums in full and really dive into a band's discography. Never have I been so invested in a band where I would read countless articles about members and interviews just so I can somehow be more connected to them, finding their b-sides, subscribing to their fanclub (LPU) just to be able to get early access to concert tickets, to the point where my friends would just associate the band with me because of how much they meant to me. They were undoubtedly my favorite band from 7th grade up till about junior or senior year of high school.

I eventually stopped listening to them very much once I entered college to explore other avenues but I knew they were always there and still looked forward to when their next album would come. This is what I've struggled to grapple with the past few days. When a band means so much to you at that age, they seem immortal in a sense, like they'll always be there to make music. I don't think I've really accepted that Chester is gone. When I see the articles and pictures of him, I think to myself that that can't happen to him, he can't be gone like that, It's Chester Bennington. It's not some older singer who was before my time or that I knew was famous but didn't listen to their music.

What's bothering me the most is the pit in my stomach I feel when I think about what he must have been feeling. I'm not crying or sobbing. I get this deep ditch in my stomach thinking about how this person who I portrayed as a beacon and genuinely felt invested in and cared about, feeling that low and broken. The pictures of him smiling hurt the most. I can tell they're real, but knowing under that is someone exhausted from battling himself breaks my heart.

I thought I was starting to get over it, but really I'm just starting to grasp it.

I've been making an effort to listen to one more light more. It might be the emotions talking but it's better than I remember. Then again, the emotions are kind of the point, no?

I've relistened to One More Light and I still feel exactly the same. The title track is hands down my favorite, but the rest I do not like at all. "Halfway Right" is the worst LP song, while "Battle Symphony", "Sorry for Now" and "Sharp Edges" aren't far behind. "Nobody Can Save Me" is one of the best songs on it, though.

It's been three days i m still wrecked by this. I was at a wedding tonight and even at the happiest moments during the night Chester would pop into my head and id get all down. also what's been haunting me a lot is that pic tmz put up of Joe hann showing up to Chester s house, not knowing hed just died.

What's killing me the most is all the insensitive shit I'm hearing. I lost count of all the people on facebook complaining about Blinkin Park being cancelled. The dude just died and all you care about is a stupid concert??

Also I've revisited one more light a lot since his death. Still not great but there are some solid tunes: Nobody Can Save Me, Talking to Myself, Heavy and One More Light are all great in my book. Even the not so great songs resonate solely because of the lyrics.

When Chris died, I wanted to hear what friends said - bandmates, Pearl Jam, etc....

With Chester, Im not 'as close' so I don't need to hear from the band. You know what they will say, as Im sure its the same thoughts from Soundgarden etc...

Its a sad thing. It is.

I'm sad that it took Chester's death for me to get back into LP, but I've really been enjoying going back through the discography. What a voice...

Yeah I saw a comment on Blink's post about it saying "now is a time to come together, not apart". Very insensitive to what the band is going through

I wonder if they'll release some kind of tribute music video for the song One More Light at some point.

Man, the title track on One More Light is a hard listen.

I really like Good Goodbye, particularly since I'm such a Stormzy fan. Really cool to see them push in such an obvious, at the same time completely not, direction.

I hadn't tried to listen to any of the past few albums, just out of lazyness, but I'm sure I'll end up getting into them over the next week.

I did not really like their last album. And now many people whom he also does not like, try to reconsider their attitude. I respect the cheater and love the old Linkin Park. But I did not like even the change of genre, but the unsuccessful attempt to develop in it. Because basically the songs are not remembered here and they do not cling to me.

A Thousand Suns - Their best album in my opinion, and my favorite album ever. I was burnt out on the band at this point and listened to those first four albums so much. Honestly never thought that they would top Hybrid Theory. But then this came out. It was every thing I love. Concept album, somewhat on the long side, all the songs went right into each other. Was great to see them really experiment and for the most part abandon their old sound and really go out there and create something different.

Hybrid Theory - The album that changed my life. I was 9 when it came out and it's weird seeing that typed out now. It's weird to think it's already been 17 years. Still a perfect album from start to finish.

Minutes to Midnight - Was glad to see them start to change up their sound and believe they nailed it on every song. Songs like Hands Held High, Valentine's Day and The Little Things Give You Away still stand out to me as much as they did when it was released. and the bonus track, No Roads Left, really shows how great of a singer Mike is too.

Meteora - Another fantastic album from start to finish, but never hit me the same as Hybrid Theory. Really solidified their songwriting for that style.

One More Light - I had personally wanted to see them go the poppy route after songs like Waiting for the End, Lies Greed Misery and Final Masquerade. I feel like everyone over reacted to how "bad" it was. First listen, it didn't do much for me but I enjoyed it. Days later I found the melodies creeping back up in my head and couldn't get them out. Heavy and Battle Symphony in particular. The album quickly grew on me and I like it more than the previous two records. Also I think the title track is one of the band's best song. It's gonna be interesting to see how Chester's death will affect people's views on the album. It already made it feel like a different album now. And the rest of them too after re-listening to their whole discography the last two days.

The Hunting Party - Was cool to see them make a heavy record and has some crazy moments like Keys to the Kingdom and Mark the Graves. Until It's Gone shows that the band could keep doing the standard sound they're known for and still do it well.

Living Things - Was let down with this album when it came out. It's grown on me but I still think it's their weakest release. Was bummed they didn't keep going down the experimental route like A Thousand Suns and felt like this one was a step backwards. Still has some stand outs like Lies Greed Misery and Until it Breaks. Overall, I feel like this is where the band started to slip after deciding to start releasing an album almost every two years. I get it that they didn't want to constantly keep the fans waiting. But they did their best when they took their time making the albums.

They were hands down my favorite band ever and Chester's death still hasn't sunk in. As for the future of the band, I hope they continue. I think they can be one of those rare instances where the band can successfully continue. They reinvent themselves every album and this would end up being they're biggest reinvention yet (under unfortunate circumstances of course). Don't have any idea of what they'd do for Chester's vocals though. Get a replacement? Easily the toughest shoes to fill. The man had a truly unique voice and someone new would be a drastic change. Have Mike be the sole frontman? They've been an sample heavy band and have a huge stage show. I think could pull off using Chester's studio tracks on the old songs and use video on the screens and make something cool with it. It's going to be very interesting to see what comes of the band after this.

Personally, I think if they were to continue with Mike as sole frontman I could see the remaining members deciding to change the name and start fresh as a "new band". That would free them up from having to try to "replace" Chester, as well as allowing them more freedom to try new ideas. Maybe that's just what I'd personally prefer, idk. Because I think a new project fronted by Mike could be really interesting if/when he decides to continue making music. He's always been the musical mastermind of LP, I hope he doesn't call it quits.

Honestly though it's hard to think of these hypotheticals so soon after. Even if LP decided to continue under the current name, they'd never be the same after this.

Well, yeah. I mean what's the other option? There's no way, imo, that they'll replace chester and continue on as "Linkin Park".

I just mean that I really doubt Mike and the others will start a new band or continue as Linkin Park. I think it's more likely they all go their seperate ways.

Yeah I think Mike could be a great front man for new material but they would need someone to perform Chester's stuff. He was a hell of a vocalist, singing and screaming
