  1. Barcelona fan is negatively effected by money in football for the first time ever, is starting to think it might possibly be a problem

    It's a lot easier to cap one league than a worldwide game. Either way more top clubs wouldn't vibe with it and probably do that European Super League thing that was rumoured years back.

    I thought FFP had been pretty much scrapped a season or 2 ago? Or at least the penalties/parameters greatly reduced? But I'd like something like no player could cost more than £100million nor paid more than £250,000 per week or whatever, worldwide. I know I'm talking shit here but I'm watching a throwback to the Premier League in 1995/96 season and teams like Middlesborough were signing world-class talent like Juninho. Dennis Bergkamp - the greatest player in PL history - cost less than players that have played less than a season of professional games this window.

    FFP was never really designed to stop big clubs from spending their money. It was supposed to stop smaller clubs from going bust a la Portsmouth years back. It in fact helps big clubs, one example is United, because of our revenue we can spend and spend way above what a lot of other big clubs can without any negative affects.

    ...I've been critical of the rising transfer fees for years? I criticized the fees for Neymar and Suarez at the time. Not exactly a new thing for me, so not sure why you're taking a pot shot here.

    FFP applies to football league clubs. It's applied differently depending who you are. Forest get a transfer ban for breaking the rules. QPR get of scott free for being from London.

    Also it's been made a mockery of by Wolves spending over £10 million each on a few players.

    Lmao, I'd almost blocked the memory of QPR out of my mind. What an absolutely terrible club they were in the PL.

    The sad thing about all the spending is that, at the end of the day, you do need to spend like crazy to be successful. In order to break the United-Arsenal duopoly, Chelseas and City needed billionaire owners. United have spent insane money the past few seasons but still ended up 6th. PSG want to become elite, they need billionaire owners willing to spend what's necessary to get there. Just the way it is I guess.

    Super league would be lame as hell. I'm already bored watching the same teams in CL every year

  10. I'd stop watching if they made a Super League

    Was going to make a joke about Spurs not being in it anyway, but I am fully aware I'm in no place to say anything after last season.

    Some United fans chanting "She fell over!" after a foul on a Madrid player.

    Incredible school yard banter there.

  20. I'm also not watching but according to twitter Fellaini is getting destroyed

    @fangclubb Prestigious

    He could score a hat trick, nutmeg Messi and rabona a fourth and twitter would still say he's getting destroyed to be fair.

  23. Nick

    @fangclubb Prestigious

    Stones was 50m, so 77.5 roughly ;-)
