Something that needs to be worked out is what happened last year.

The vets really let down the league, which is why we had to form the league we did after. I believe it wasn't even November and guys were dropping after our 1st Madden season. I think we need to make sure people have genuine interest as we got through 4-5 years in the other league that we started in December.

 

Nobody was recruiting or couldn't get anyone to join because of this website (That's what new people told me), so the league died. I think it is great that everyone wants to get the leagues to combine, but how are we sure that won't happen again?

 

Idk man, I think once they learn how easy this website is, and it's literally simple as all hell, they'll like it more.

GroupMe moves fast and people post useless messages like "lol" and cover up any shit talk or trades. Trades get done through whispers, there's barely any competition for them, it's just boring.

 

I am not saying we need to use Groupme by any means, I am saying when Vets start to drop again how are we not in the same situation with a dead league in November again.

 

Oh I feel you dude, you're not wrong in that. I was shitty last year myself. I can't even quite remember why I had a hard time with the league last madden. But I'm feeling football season more than ever this year, so I think I'll be in it for the long haul.

 

I think this league was VERY strong for 6 years or so. You happened to come in when interest was starting to wane amongst some of the longer term vets who I do not believe will be coming back to this new league. But that delivered a major blow to the league when some of the more reliable guys since 2010 or so were leaving the league. It was a genuine cause for concern.

For me, I just didn't have the time to do it with my new job and having a 1 1/2 year old. Things are still busy for me with my second kid coming in November but I've figured out ways to manage my time and think I'll be able to hang.

For some people, its interest waning and for others---it's simply that life just catches up to you and you can't balance video games in with your real life and I just have a hard time faulting anybody for that.

 

Ok, well maybe make this year last chance year for some Vets? You can rejoin if you left early, but if you leave before a certain time you are out on future leagues or something like that. It is hard enough to recruit in August, it is nearly impossible to recruit in December to fill in a team that someone else has changed via trade or draft.

 

I mean, that's fine if you want to take a stance like that but what I (and all the other guys who were here for more than two years would say) I don't think any of us saw the league suddenly falling apart like it did, especially when it did (right in the middle of the season). I think that took everybody off guard given the sustained success we've had here.

As far as me, specifically, my sabbatical from the league was simply needed and once I left, the league seemed to still do alright under ATL. I obviously want to try and do this again because it provides a lot of entertainment for me and has since 2010-2011 when I first joined as the shitty ass Seahawks.

If I have to bow out at any point this year for personal reasons, that'll be it for me for good. As I sit here today, that is not the plan but if it comes to that---then that'll be it for me.

 

Well we are gauging the interest on Groupme, we can see how many people have interest here and see where we are at. We changed some of the rules for what most thought were the better so we may need to address some of those as well. I think it makes sense to combine as long as @Believeland doesn't sim the draft again.

 

I've been here for about 3 and a half years, and I didn't see last year happening at all. The past seasons before then were awesome.

So...we're just abandoning everything we did in that other league? We team drafted and everything...lol

One thing that did lead to the demise was EA taking away the Madden website/app

 

yeah im not a fan of redrafting for teams. but if we were to move it here. How would we integrate the returning peoples. We can bring the draft list over here and make the returning vets pick from the scrap pile since they abanonded ship.

 

EA is stupid, but hopefully this year they'll get their shit together

 

There actually are some decent teams left, I have the list depending on who would come over.

 

i just think it would be super fun and whacky to just blow it up. but thats just me
