Ah fuck, haven't listened to their albums nearly enough to do this. Looks like it's time to do a Circa deep dive

 

That was the one released through the Studio 4 compilation. Just a super straight-forward cookie-cutter alt rock song from them. I really didn't find much to it after a few listens. Seemed like a b-side they were just sitting on and weren't gonna use for anything big. I've always felt the same way about Bad Heart. Unsurprisingly, both came from the VW era of the band.

Back to the single. Got a good 10+ listens in today. Was a little over excited.

I feel like their is a lot too unpack and like.
Great mixture of guitar. The meat riff sounds OLG era. The little riff outro reminds me a lot of BSN.

The lyrics are what I enjoy. Very obtuse and not right on the nose.

The falsetto needs to be all over the record. I love it.

 

Juturna is my favorite by a fair amount, OLG is second, BSN and Descensus are pretty much tied for third, and VW is last.

 

For real though even if VW is my least favorite it's book ended by two stellar tracks.
