Yeah i've been roaming a lot. You do get strong weapons if you know where to look. Plus the floating platforms usually have chests that drop good equipment. And I feel like if you're really creative with how you kill (combination of bombs, arrow headshots, and knocking the enemies to the water) it's pretty manageable.

I didn't try it yet, but I did see it. It was unnerving to see one that early. Maybe I should try it now, I have some pretty decent weapons.

I figured that would happen, they worked on that one for so much longer than intented that Microsoft must have been helping them stay afloat

 

Like I get that Xbox wants more exclusives but I would've thought that if they did pump a load of money in, they'd be better taking bigger shares in the game and then making it a timed exclusive to sell more copies in the long run. It doesn't seem a game that would sell consoles to me. Obvious that's all theoretical on want the cuphead makers would've wanted to agree too.

Still the game looks friggening awesome and I'm stoked for all of you with Xboxs will get to play it.

If the reason the game got enough money to finish properly was Xbox exclusivity then I'm all for it. I need something new to play on my Xbone anyway.

 

I'd much rather Microsoft get their exclusives by helping fund games like this than just paying for timed exclusivity like Tomb Raider.

 

PS is very guilty of that with the recent batch of games announced.

Also I've finally encountered serious control issues with the Crash remaster, double jumping in 3 is whack. Just randomly decides to not work sometimes. It's super annoying.

 

Far Cry 5, Destiny 2, Modern Warfare remastered, although the latter two maybe something to do with Activision.

also my friend did that GameStop trade in stuff and got like $500 and is saving it for the Xbox one X so that's hilarious.

I regret not doing it so I could get a PS4.

Yeah DLC exclusivity is dumb and I think it's wasted money but that's not going anywhere. I don't care much about that though because I don't care about most DLC. I think paying for timed exclusivity of the full game is way worse.

 

Destiny 2 will have some timed exclusive content on PS4 from what I have been reading, either way, exclusivity is ridiculous.

I think timed exclusivity or paying just to not have a game on another console is ridiculous but I don't think a company creating a great exclusive game to give people a reason to buy their console is a bad thing at all. I think first party exclusives are often the best games out there.

 

Without the money Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo pay for exclusives (timed and permanent), a lot of these ganes would not get made, it's that simple. Co-marketing deals are a different story and I have been wondering how well they actually work.

 

I don't know if I would go that far in regards to your first point, but as with everything, there are exceptions to the rule.

 

The games that wouldn't get made like Bayonetta are the kind of great exclusive I'm talking about. Timed stuff like Tomb Raider where there was no doubt about that game being made is dumb.

 

Well there were actually reports that Tomb Raider (after Square called the sales of the first one dissapointing) and Street Fighter, two prominent examples, largely happened because of the money Microsoft and Sony chipped in. Interestingly enough both of those did quite badly, but hey Capcom and Square got paid. A lot of indie games also definitely rely on the money they get from consoles exclusivity deals (timed and permanent). Play Station and Nintendo (Xbox less so, at least this gen) of course also have certain exclusives because they are perceived to be the only viable platforms in some cases. In those cases they usually aren't involved monetarily of course.
