Discovered them well after their disbanding, but Reveille was definitely one of the best nu metal acts of the era.

My Epiphany definitely fits this bill for me, they were on Eyeball, put out one really fun record and then just disappeared.

Never thought I would ever hear that band name on this site lol. They were a cornerstone of my nu metal phase. I remember the first time I heard the lyric "that old man damn he sure can talk/he said that I fucked Jesus in a trailer park/but that ain't the truth, it was in the Ritz hotel/I wore a condom so I wouldn't burn in hell" was the wildest thing my innocent ears had ever heard

Haha, that is a hell of a line! Although for sheer visceral impact, I'm not sure anything quite matches "YOUGAVEMEYOURWORDYOULYINGHYPOCRITEFUCKYOU!!!"

Do you know if Genuflect is still putting out new records? I know they put out at least three, only heard the first and was not all that impressed.

God, now that I think about it my favorite genre might be "Tiny Rock Bands That Just Never Broke Out."

    Like, seriously, there's a list...

    Polar Bear Club
    Crime in Stereo
    Goodtime Boys
You, Me, and Everyone We Know
    Fireworks
    Weatherbox
    Showbread
    Somos
    letlive.
    Vanna

Guess that means Turnover's new record is gonna be their last...

Is CTTS actually done, or just painfully, hilariously slow? 'cause let's not forget it was almost a decade between LPs 1 and 2.

I think it's more the latter, but if the focus is on 'fading away...'

I mean, I don't know how much momentum they had to start with, but at this point they basically have zero chance of regaining any notoriety outside their diehard supporters.

Like, I literally forgot how much I loved these guys until I looked at a list.

Whooooaaa bringing me back! I saw them play at a tiny church in GA for the first time back in 2006, then went on to see them several times over the next few years. They were such good dudes.

They were good dudes. Saw them at a tiny club here in Glasgow, Scotland. I met my girlfriend when i was handing out flyers for them. We are still going out 8 years on...

LOVED this band. He did an acoustic show with some of this material for an opening of a brewery which he streamed live. What is he doing now?

I saw them on Warped Tour way back when and again when they opened for Angels and Airwaves. That album is so underrated and a classic. I have no idea what he's doing now, Terrible Things maybe? Would love another The Color Fred Album

Matchbook Romance though. They released arguably one of the best albums of the "scene" era (Voices), broke up, got back together and played a few shows periodically, and then disappeared again. I miss them.

I miss them too, but I disagree about Voices. I felt Voices paled in comparison to the album before it except for a track or two.

I used to love Stories and Alibis but imo it has not aged well, whereas I still go back to and enjoy Voices.

Perhaps I need to listen again and see if the years have changed my opinion.

Have you heard Hidden In Plain View's 'Life In Dreaming'. Same genre around the same time, and I feel that album is just as stellar

Speaking of Fred, I'd add Terrible Things to this list. I enjoyed the first record and then have heard nothing from him since.

I couldn't get into Terrible Things. I tried. Perhaps it was my love for the Color Fred and wanting a proper follow up that made me not like it or something.
