Has it ever been confirmed or is it just a fun fan theory that Bullets, Three Cheers, and TBP are following the same storyline?

either way im listening to MCR now after reading the Thursday thread and boy oh boy are they The Best

Three Cheers was originally a concept album following the story of Demolition Lovers but that was kind of abandoned half way through and I don't think Bullets has a story line throughout, feels more like a lot of individual things to me. The Black Parade is completely it's own thing though.

yeah listening to Bullets now (which is wonderful even fans of the band sleep on this album) it doesnt feel like one long story aside from some vague relationship stuff. I mean Gerard touches on a lot of topics throughout but theres never this sense of "here are the characters that we're following in this story that culminates in them being the Demolition Lovers" you know?

I cant remember where I read this but someone wrote a long post about how those 3 albums are interconnected and follow a storyline but i have no idea where i read it or where to find it

Yeah, Bullets always felt like Gerard telling short stories in songs which is part of why I love that album so much. Every song on there is very much it's own thing to me despite sharing a few common themes like you said.

I think any story connecting all three would be definite fanfiction haha.

Like the story of how all Pixar movies are in the same universe?

oh my god ive had literal arguments with friends about how that could even begin to make sense but I have some that are steadfast in their belief that they all take place in the same universe.

the Universal Monsters films of the 1930s-1950s did it better!

I was under the impression it was just Bullets and Three Cheers that were linked; something about a pair of lovers and he ends up going to prison and nearly being executed for her. But it's very broad strokes compared to TBP.

Conventional Weapons is great and I'm glad it was released it feels like it couldve easily been a proper followup album to DD that was just a straightforward MCR record. Those 10 songs and "Fake Your Death" wouldve made for a great record.

Ooooh, I might put Fake Your Death as track 11 on my CW album after reading this, that's a great idea. I hate having loose tracks and it's also a better ending imo

It works pretty well! The CW tracks are oddly pretty thematic lyrically and FYD are works surprisingly well as a "we've been through so much" kind of closer

Burn Bright is such a sick closer for that "album". I hate having single tracks too but I already have a ton for MCR so it doesn't really matter, ha.

Burn Bright and FYD work well as a 1-2 punch. yeah same, thanks again for hooking me up my friend.

there could be a pretty killer album hidden somewhere between the bonus tracks/non album songs that arent CW

At the very least the 4 TBP era b-sides, Desert Song, and maybe Desolation Row would make for a killer EP

Boy Division, The Light Behind Your Eyes, and Burn Bright are highlights of their later career for me.
