I don't think being around people is weird af but I'm also a people person. I don't know..like..if POC don't like hockey who cares?

 

I really don't understand what your argument is, at all. You want me to pitch ideas to the NHL to get POC into it?

 

So it's weird to you that a sport in 2017 attracts whites people and it makes you feel uncomfortable being there. It's a point you've brought up multiple times now. I'm just confused as to why white people watching a hockey game is something that would make someone feel uncomfortable.

Well, you sound like one. The fact that it boggles your mind that people may find it strange that a sport is like 99% one race and the majority of its fans are also that race. Every other sport isn't like that. It's not weird.

 

That's what I asked you from the beginning..what can the NHL do to combat that?

 

I could be misremembering, but I think I recall reading that hockey is a really expensive sport to pursue. The same applies to a lot of winter Olympic sports.

 

I guess this is more what I was looking for. Like..why don't more poc play hockey and why don't they follow the sport.

 

They can do a lot of things, they can start youth programs in impoverished communities for one. One reason a lot of other kinds of people don't play is because gear is so expensive .

 

Hockey is really fucking expensive.

Okay now this makes sense. Didn't mean to make it sound like I was being an ass or anything wowza.

 

Most high schools don't have hockey teams, obviously I'm not suggesting they just build a friggin hockey rink but I'm sure tons of brands would love to sponsor them and they'd get $$$ from that.

 

Definitely! I must have missed that. But yeah, the deck is stacked against kids who want to pursue hockey if their parents don't have money.

All I know is Wayne simmonds is one BAMF and I'd love to see more diversity on the ice.

 

Yea, it's really awful and if shit breaks that might be the last time they play. That's why enrolling kids in youth hockey and having high schools have their own teams would help immensely. They wouldn't have to pay for their own stuff.

 

I mean I do live in Pennsyltucky.
