Finally listened to "The Gold", interesting song. I didn't like the pacing of it at first but that guitar riff really works its way into your brain, reminds me of The Dear Hunter

I don't think anyone either got it or found it funny so you're fine. I laugh harder at my jokes when no one else does just to compensate.

The best way! I was looking up Sufjan lyrics about prom queens, haha. "I can't remember lyrics about that on C&L but maybe I missed it".

HAHAHA!! That's hilarious. "Was it all a disguise like junior high" would be the closest.

And incidentally, I did find a lyric from a song from Michigan that mentioned a "homecoming queen" that I'd forgotten about.

fuck it I'm getting the photobook thing

let this be an indicator of how much I like this record: I'm not a man of funds and I've only had a fourth of a beer and the last time I tried to order a similar product it was In Currents and I waited 6 months for that beautiful thing

also I know we're talking about this album as if it doesn't have bangers but "Lead, SD" would like to have a word with you.

Forty....One.....Days......AHHHHHHH. It is so strange. I wasn't at ALL into music until the end of my Senior year of High School back in 2013. My best friend introduced me to Andy Hull and I was very shortly rewarded with Cope....A tour....Hope...a tour...and now it has been 3 years, I've been out of college for nearly a year and I've just been dwelling within this discography every single day in that time and I'm not quite sure I have ever looked more forward to an entertainment release in my life.

There's just something really special in nearly every piece of music they release where I adore basically every song. There are very few albums like that out there for me personally and a majority of them are MO's discography.

You think that's a "banger"? I don't think I see it, especially given the band's discography. Imo.

Got my ticket for Manchester in October and convinced my wife to come with me! A good day indeed. Manchester Orchestra in Manchester - you can't beat that!

Haha The last time I saw them live was on my 30th birthday a month after Cope came out. I spent all day at Disneyland and watched them and Kevin Devine play in Downtown Disney that night. It truly was all downhill from there.

I could probably actually swing going to that thing after work but I don't know how late I'd get there so do I call out sick or do I rush there after oh man what do I do what do i do what do i do....

For me I wouldn't feel comfortable going all the way up there unless I got there a like 6pm only bc that building is super small and I don't want to drive 2 hours just to have to turn around bc I can't get in

Yeah, same. I could probably get there around 5-5:30 if I left work at 4 and the trains were running on time, but there are so many variables haha

How would they enforce people not recording the album in terrible quality on their phones and leaking it out?

@Jason Tate that one person you used to get into arguments about this would be stoked haha. I don't remember who they were but they offered thrice like 800 to hear their new album early last year and you gave very good reasons why you believed that it 1. Wasn't fair to all of their fans and 2. There was no way to secure the album not leaking. This is very different tho, damn I'm going to be hearing this album next week
