Use a homeward bone to spend the souls?

Can you use a homeward bone in a boss fight?

Idk, I've never tried, haha. Thought it was worth a go though. Or use a ring of sacrifice.

Yes you can, it just cancels if you get hit before the animation finishes and you teleport back (but the animation isn't very long so you shouldn't have an issue if you do it quick enough).

grabbed the twin swords in the area right before farrons keep, made the rest of the game DUMB easy
spent no more than 5 tries on each boss from that point on, beating half of them on the first try
also having ludicrous amounts of HP and stamina helped
cant decide whether i made a broken build or if it's just a really easy game (compared to the rest of the series, i mean). starting a NG as sorcerer now, we'll see how it goes

I stuck with an upgraded broadsword for nearly all of the game but also pumped a lot into health/stamina. I've used a similar build in every Souls game and I thought it was by far the easiest (or at least the one I had the easiest time with) in the series.

It was the easiest for me too but I feel like that may be just because I am really good at these games now, haha.

That's also true, I definitely have sort of mastered the mechanics five games in.

I mean I remember playing the first Dark Souls and thinking it was incredibly difficult and then getting stuck at the Gaping Dragon and I didn't come back to it until after I beat DS2 (which I found incredibly difficult) and then I found it much, much easier and honestly didn't have too much trouble. Bloodborne gave me some trouble in certain sections and bosses but it never became as hard as when I was first playing DS1 or 2 and I played a ton of Bloodborne so I think I've got way better from that. I probably played more Bloodborne than I did the Dark Souls games combined.

I played Demon's first, found it impenetrable and gave up pretty soon in. Then I decided to give the series another shot with Dark, had a lot of trouble with a ton of the game but enjoyed the hell out of it. I went back to Demon's, and was able to get back into that easier having played 60 hours or so of Dark Souls. DS2 came out, found some of it rough but generally very manageable, Bloodborne took some getting used to because I was so reliant on shields but eventually I got the hang of it and steadily made my way through with minor hang ups.

So uh yeah, in short I've gotten better at these games as I played more of them.

I've found DS3 to be slightly harder than Bloodborne. But I find the other Souls games to be easier than either. Perhaps it's because I've played the others longer. Demon's Souls was the easiest one for me.

So this was the hardest one for you? That's so strange.

Yeah, I don't know why. Maybe it's the movement change. But I'm nearly done with a second playthrough now of DS3 and it has been much easier. So I don't know anymore.

I would say this is definitely harder than Bloodborne. I also think Bloodborne ruined my play style, since I often find myself rushing into a group thinking I'll take them all on and then I just get swarmed and stomped.

I'm almost done, I've just been backtracking and making sure I find/finish off anything I can before I beat the boss. Fantastic game

I can't understand how anyone could find this game harder than Bloodborne, haha.

The health regen alone makes it easier haha. I think Bloodborne is the easiest of all the Soulsborne games. I found the second half of this game pretty tough, though the bosses remained pretty easy

beat this last night after about 40 hours played. overall i really loved it, definitely thought it was harder than bloodborne more due to the fact that in DS games I really prefer slower weapons like UGS or even miracles. In this game trying to fire them off is so tough due to the increased resource management and the density/speed of most enemies I encountered. while the game gives you an incredible amount of options for play style, the level design and mobs sort of try to pigeonhole you a bit towards straight swords or quicker weapons.

definitely laughable in terms of difficulty but i appreciated it for the scene it set
