I've honestly never felt threatened or scared of a spirit. I believe they're not bad, or that they can hurt you.

But while working at the hospital, my office used to be just down the hall from the morgue. I would work pretty late for my position and there would be times I'd be sitting at my desk. Mind you, this room was a level under ground. But I'd be sitting there working and for whatever reason papers or knickknacks would fall of the shelves.. Literally for no reason. They'd be pushed back to the wall and some how they'd fall off the shelf.. pretty crazy.

Other times I'd be working with headphones in and I could hear someone calling my name, my coworkers would have this stuff happen to them too.

I'd see people walking around the office out of the corner of my eye with no one being in the office.

The hospital was a really trippy place. At times, I felt like if I walked through a "spirit" or "ghost" I'd get a random chill all throughout my body.

So when people experience it, why is it always an old hag?

    holy shit no.

  5. In my experience, it usually isn't. It's typically just like an ominous presence/sense of dread or impending doom. No doubt sometimes the fear manifests itself as something you've hidden in your subconscious from other testimonies or similar fears/prior experiences though.

I work with the elderly, and let me tell you this- Just because they're in their 70s, doesn't mean they're "ready for the retirement home", I find that to be offensive and rude. I work in a large elder home, and maybe 3 people are in their 70s and it's usually because of medication management. Otherwise they're fully independent. Almost everyone would rather be in their actual home, but because of different reasons, they are not able to live alone/at their actual home. Also why assume it was an "old person" that slipped and fell in the shower...really? It wasn't necessary to add the "old person" into it, but instead you should have said "if someone slipped and fell..." Anyone could slip and fall in the shower. Maybe the landlord wanted to upgrade features or the previous tenants had problems with it (cracks/leaks), so they replaced it.

Haven't had sleep paralysis in a while. seems to be subsiding. I've never seen the "old hag" that a lot of people see but I have seen a shadowy woman figure before, which is somewhat common.

As a Clevelander, I'm really interested to know which apartments you're talking about and where.

Sleep paralysis is the worst. Or when you've slept on your hand/arm for so long you can't move it. Eeeejo

My apologies. I did not intend to be offensive, but can understand. My grandmother spent the last 5 years of her life in assisted living and they took great care of her. Thank you for the work you do - it probably isn't the easiest job.

Working in an elder home has really opened my eyes. There's a lot of misconception about the elderly. It can be a really physically demanding job and pay isn't great, but I love what I do.

One of my good buddies also gets sleep paralysis very frequently but when he feels himself slipping into it he just rolls with it and uses it as a vessel that allows him to lucid dream. Sounds fun, but I'm terrified of conceding and just letting it take over me.

Has anyone had an "out of body experience" NOT related to sleep paralysis?

I've tried that, it's kinda weird. It definitely prolongs the experience and enhances the bodily sensation. I'll feel waves of electricity running through my body, it's really strange. It's resulted in some bat shit crazy dreams too.
