I actively collect CDs for many of the same reasons lifted above. That, plus the feeling of just having something tangible is far more fulfilling to me.

I think people spend way too much effort trying to dissect why they dislike music instead trying to find the things they like about the music. I can listen to just about anything and find something I like about it tbh.

I in no way intended for their to be any seemingly racist undertones in this post. I legitimately apologize if I offended you. I was just stating an unpopular opinion I have on a particular sub-genre of Hip Hop (which happens to be one of my favorite umbrella genres). Allow me to elaborate. To me, there are some artists (ie Future, Drake, Young Thug, Sometimes Kendrick and sometimes Kanye) who IN MY OPINION do trap right. Other artists sound uninspired in terms of their flows and what they are saying, while rapping over a seemingly uninspired or generic trap beat. I hate when people say this, but, to me, most trap sounds the same. Rapid fire drum machines over a more hard hitting basey kick drum.

I also apologize to anyone who interpreted that post as racist or insensitive in any way at all.

Freaxxx is literally the reason I included "just about anything"... that being said, challenge accepted. The one thing I do like about the song is the way they make the chorus pop by using the high-pitched sustained synth.

A.C. had some interesting guitar noises and feedback in the intro. That being said, I feel like this song was made as a kind of trolling statement more than anything.

I actually don't mind the 30 Seconds to Mars song. I like I - V - VI - IV chord progressions and the vocal melody surprised me a few times.

i can't get into the newest Daughter record at all and i've tried repeatedly based solely on how well it was received here. i tune out halfway through the third or fourth song, soon it's over and i can't remember a thing other than that "i hate being alone, i should get a dog or something" line, which i find hilarious.

I really liked the new Daughter record, which was the first one I'd heard from them. Went back and listened to If You Leave and that one didn't leave much of an impression on me. To each their own I guess.

Brand New, itself, is incredibly overrated. At least in terms of this site.

Definitely. YFW is generic punk, and the only good song on it is The No Seat Belt Song. Deja is extremely hit or miss, and even the best songs suffer from a botched production job. Devil and God is only half good. Daisy I think is their best album, but it's the one album people really hate on from the band.

Devil and God is super great. The rest I don't care about other than a few songs from Daisy.

I'm the same way. I usually jam using Spotify, but I also know that any music on there could disappear + they don't have everything in my collection. If it's something that I have a strong connection to I just buy it.

Did a search for Linkin Park and ended up here. I'm late to the discussion, but Meteora and Hybrid Theory are still bomb records.

Might not be that unpopular but I don't think The Foo Fighters have one particularly good album, they have lots of fantastic songs but I can't sit through an album of theirs.

    hmmm

I think their first three albums are all very good, especially The Colour And The Shape, but in the last 15/16 years, they've put out maybe one good one and I think the rest are pretty mediocre. They've become a 'song band' unfortunately.

Well, I like every Brand New album, but "Daisy" is their best, even if I don't have a particularly stronger connection to it.

Limp Bizkit has a decent rhythm section most of the time. The bald bassist (don't care enough to google his name) is really solid, and his lines/fills are pretty creative when the need is there. If I could find instrumental versions of their albums, I'd purchase at a reasonable rate, probably.

nu-metal is one of the most important genres of all time and produced more quality music than grunge did

edit: did the math in my head and grunge totally produced more quality stuff but the former remains

I don't like twentyone pilots, they are boring and i can't listen to a single song of them on the radio for more than 45 seconds

In Jacksonville Florida the alternative radio station won't shut up about them. Not to mention my sister and her friends are huge fangirls of them.
