I don't like the Red Hot Chili Peppers or Green Day.

I can pretty much agree with this. For me, the Peppers have a handful of songs I enjoy but wouldn't say love and Green Day is about the same.

Part of my dislike of Green Say though likely comes from a best friend in middle school who played their records endlessly. Ironically enough by the time American Idiot came around that friend was burned out by them too and didn't care or like it much.

It's weird that Ed Sheeran doesn't get flack for cultural appropriation the way other pop stars do, like it's not okay for anyone but he does ironic rap covers and Shape Of You has the Grandma's Hands mmm hmm

Only Green Day album even close to American Idiot is Dookie, and still, not really.

American Idiot is okay. Dookie and Nimrod are much better

Nimrod is the only one close to American Idiot.

Does every rap cover have to be ironic?

The only thing remarkable about Doogie is how unremarkable it is. I don't understand how it's held in such high regard.

I find it pretty easy to get through, I think there are only two or three songs I skip on the whole thing.

I skip like half of it, haha. I don't think most of their early records hold together that well. Dookie is the exception. They figured it out on Warning, imo.

Heh, I don't find Dookie very consistent, so I guess we're similar with those two albums switched. I do think Dookie and Insomniac have amazing highlights though.

I don't go back to Insomniac much. That one always felt pretty one-note to me.

As a whole I'd put it above Dookie. Always thought it was an improved version of Dookie with some darker vibes thrown in.

I hear it more as a rehash of Dookie with weaker hooks, haha
