I've been giving that song a lot of shit today, but let's be honest. "Long Lost Feeling" is also really bad.

 

Lol those are two of my favorites on there! I do wish LLF had a big, loud No It Isn't type outro or some sort of Every Time I Look For You bridge

 

Maybe Tom sabotaged him knowing that a song title like that wouldn't be a single or would be difficult to remember/forgettable

These are the exact types of responses I would expect from people who think Steve Aoki is the devil. Haha.

 

I still respect Tom and what he does/has done but....

You know this is something to really ponder.

Tom holding blink back and Mark/Travis holding blink back aren't mutually exclusive

But that's not the phrasing I'd use. Tom just isn't a good songwriter and Mark/Travis are pursuing a mediocre/uninteresting tone/style.

 

The fact that Tom refuses to use a producer automatically dismisses the idea of him holding them back. This band needs a producer. Also barely anyone gives a fuck about DED when Tom took full control of the recording for that soooooo

3 more fully realized AVA songs, a +44 song and a remix of Smashmouth's All Star. Not really groundbreaking lol

I often say "I don't like this" about paramore and fall out boy and then get told I need to move on from 2007
So everyone's not neccessarily accepting of that reason either

I wouldn't know what to tell you about that except that I'm not one of those people, but I'd much prefer someone say they don't like something (and explain why) than make up weird things that likely aren't true.

 

I mean it would make perfect sense if the song was good enough to be considered a single.

California got nominated for Grammy didn't it? Since they seemed to like the record I don't see any major changes. Maybe by this line ups third album together they'll wanna shake it up. Be prepared to be patient.

 

The earliest the album can come out is Summer 2018 according to Travis. Good news Feldman with is he pretty much forces them to write songs all the time haha. So if they decide to stick with him I can see another album sooner rather than later. If they decide to go with another producer (fingers crossed they do) then I see it taking longer.

 

I don't know what it is but Travis rubs me the wrong way sometimes.

 

He always kinda rubbed me the wrong way until I met him in 2006 after a +44 show. He was so nice and asked me more questions than I was able to ask him haha.

Lil Chris was there too. He was nice, just super quiet. RIP man.
