Why is it so hard to believe that Matt can write bad songs?

This isn't a very funny joke/predictable/low hanging fruit, but Dan Andriano should replace him

  3. Possibly. But I know that I've heard Mark say that before they hit the studio with John that the songs they were writing sounded like a mix of old Blink and old Alkaline Trio. John said the same thing in an interview, but thought that the songs weren't good enough or something along those lines and that this needed to sound like Blink and not Alkaline Trio. So I dunno...

  4. Just a tad yes, but in all seriousness though Matt is such a great song writer and hearing him on this stuff just makes me sad a little bit. But I'm still happy for him regardless.

  5. As I said.... your bias is definitely showing. Let's not pretend Matt can't write awful songs.

A lot of people already have in their heads who they are going to blame when the song is bad (or even beforehand). Not many people liked "Parking Lot" which was a Matt heavy track. Everyone kept saying Skiba was the highlight of the song, but that overall it wasn't very good....which is confusing. Like he had immunity or something. People were even saying Feldmann obviously wrote Matt's parts that weren't very good.

  7. 0 years. He's written great stuff in the past 12 months. "bored to death" will be a Blink staple for years and is on par with their older stuff at the very least. And I can point out three other songs I think are at the top half of their catalog from CA as well.

  8. He can and he has. But this stuff is worse than some of the bad stuff he's written for Trio.

  9. Of I know Matt can write awful songs. " Draculina " is a perfect example of that. So is " Sun Dials ". So if you think I'm not willing to admit Matt hasn't wrote awful songs than you're mistaken.

I haven't dove into the lyrics much on the new stuff, but I still think Skiba's vocals on California and the deluxe tracks I've heard so far is the best he's sounded.

  11. It's not, if you've listened to "This Addiction." Hahah.

  12. Dan was so solid on that album though.

  13. Haha I totally agree. Bored To Death and even She's Out Of Her Mind totally hold up with past Blink stuff. I'm not saying he hasn't written aaaaanything good in x amount of years (I was being overdramatic) but really, I think Mark peaked like 15 years ago. (I wasn't a big fan of the +44 record)

    hey there, that's uncalled for*

*if we consider that album to be just the title track and piss and vinegar

I wonder if people would be talking about Mark not being able to write a great song if Mark didn't mention that was his biggest fear in that interview/article a few years ago.

  16. " Long Lost Feeling " is lame as hell. That stormy skies and fire works line is really bad.

FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

Yeah. As imperfect as Cali is, Bored, Left Alone, Cynical and San Diego are all top blink songs for me. And way up in the top half for me.

  20. Aha really ? I just can't get into it aha.

  21. Those are easily the biggest high lights of the album.

Yeah in an interview around the time Neighborhoods came out he said something like his biggest fear is not being able to write another good song again. He had to scrap a few songs he had written for the album because he kept going back to work on it and ended up totally messing it up. Hence why I think Feldmann 'go in a room and write a song in 15 minutes' might have been good for Mark because he admits he over thinks things too much at times.

  23. I will admit that " Don't Mean Anything " is a jam.

  24. Wow I had no clue about this. I wonder if it's a confidence issue with him ?

  25. The chorus is super catchy. I don't remember the rest of the parts and I've listened to it 5 times today.
