Almost every song on here could be a big single. Still think fake happy has a huge chorus and could do well on radio

  3. For self titled? Still into you was released as a single about 3 weeks before the album released

Next Show: Jamie xx -- 1/12

Peaked at #24 on the Hot 100 in November 2013. Disappeared a week after it was released in March, then a slow climb started late summer.

They would have to do a radio cut where they don't include the intro. Pool could also do well.

Finally got around to this, don't have that initial LOVE that seems to be across the board, but I do enjoy it after one listen and I'm sure it'll be a grower.

Initial favorites: Hard Times, Grudges, Caught In The Middle, Idle Worship

As much as I like mwY, I really don't like how No Friend ended up

I hope that hits daily double figure is wrong. Sure you can think it's a wrong take, but first week sales still matter in this industry and the fact that they dropped 50% from the self-titled (which as far as I remember neither still into you nor ain't it fun-which was way later had broken yet) is a bad look. I think you gotta put that on Fueled By. Sure the tour is still going to sell well, but this could have been way bigger.

Band made the 'lack' of promo, interviews, and reviews call. Talked to the peeps at Atlantic (the ones doing the press) about it. (Also first week sales don't matter much for a band like Paramore with the stuff they're doing now. Their tours are already all lined up.)

Again: comparing this to their last album is apples and oranges for what they did and why. They went all in last time, and broke through in a huge way. This was faster and much more subdued and sets up their tour and the rest of the year.

I'd take it the other way: quite good numbers for a month or whatever it ended up being rollout with minimal press after 4 years.

I mean that's great then that they were anticipating this and purposefully planning it, it's just having the knack to want to see artists you adore make those big numbers haha. Numbers aren't everything but it's just a nice little cherry on top of the cake.

As long as they are able to keep putting out music, I'm happy for them. I bet one of the songs will catch on.

Just droppin' in on the horse's grave to kick it by saying I've always loved Dylan as a vocalist and think he's very underrated. I do get that I base a lot of this on the "character" of his voice, but I find it very pleasant to listen to.

I think the album surprised me - I thought it was going to be more poppy than it is. I found the first two singles coupled with a lot of the comments when it leaked to be a bit deceptive. I'm enjoying the album but I was ready for some all out pop style. It's catchy and has some of these pop flavours but it still has a distinctive and familiar Paramore undercurrent. I was ready for something else so it took a while to reorientate myself. Overall, I enjoy it a lot (definitely more than s/t). I appreciate how cohesive it is and a lot of the songs are really catchy and get stuck in your head, it's just not as poppy as I was expecting.

I'm curious which song you think has potential to break through on pop radio. Like, at least on the level of Still Into You.

I know you didn't ask me, but Rose Colored Boy, Pool, and Hard Times all have a chance in my mind.

I think those are all the closest to doing so but I feel like they're all just weird and different enough that i can't see it. I hope pop radio surprises me but at least the current climate it feels like an incredibly uphill battle to get any of those significant pop radio play.

probably at least will be alt nation hits though
