Grudges is about Zac. They talk about it in the Zane Lowe interview in which HAyley asks Zac to sing on it and he didn't really know what it was about.

wrap yourself in petals for armor.

The only Paramore lyrics I thought were outright bad were Crushcrushcrush. I was 18 when the album came out and even I was like, wth is this song?

Otherwise I love Hayley's lyrics. I think this album in particular has showcased a whole new side of her, I notice new subtleties with every listen. The way she uses different combinations of lyrics with vocals to create interesting emotional contrasts has given me new perspectives with every listen.

    Sleekest of beaks. So Good.

Hits Daily Double has it projected to debut at #6 with 50-55k sales, 55-65k SPS

It's decent considering it was announced 3 weeks before release without a huge radio single push and no vinyl.

Any idea how much vinyl adds to a total? Imagine it's an incredible variable based on genre / artist / response to the album itself

If they wanted it to be bigger, they should've released the singles further out. I think they assumed that "Hard Times" would shoot up the charts faster. "Told You So" was pushed out pretty quick as a second single considering the promotional timeline.

i don't know, i don't see any of these songs as actual pop chart toppers
not in the current pop climate

I don't think vinyl would have given this that much of a boost

Gotta do my part and buy the cd since I've been enjoying this

I didn't see "Ain't It Fun" as one either in that environment, but that went to what... #5?

Throw "Rose-Colored Boy" in the right Girls sequence (RIP) and it'd be top 20.

i also think ain't it fun is leagues better than any song here, especially for the pop world, haha. that whole song is just hook after hook

If that ends up being the real figure on Sunday, and it actually debuts below Machine Gun Kelly, it will be the first real embarrassment from Fueled By Ramen in terms of marketing failure I can remember in a long, long time.

As I said in another arena: I'm fascinated by this. Is this the last record in our lifetimes to be dramatically affected by a leak?

For example since emperors new clothes came out a year and a half ago, it has 125 mil views, approximately 5 times more than the paramore lead single. I bet when the paramore album is a year and a half old hard times will have at least that many views, but yet the album would've sold approximately half as many albums week 1. What the hell happened? Was it the PT Cruiser screw up? Was it the quick rollout? I physically don't understand why it was so low?

For examples of other panic videos for reference, don't threaten me with a good time has 22 million, victorious has 40 million, hallelujah has 50 million etc

Paramore should theoretically have enough promotion from YouTube alone to sell 100k copies, yet didn't come anywhere close.

  20. Well they released now and still into it in January and March respectively before the late April release of self titled so they could push it more and still into you was a huge hit

People complain about 3+ month roll outs but they tend to sell better that way so do you want your music quicker or do you want your artists to survive

  22. I mean Paramore is gonna survive just fine haha

The way the arrangement really opens up at the chorus of "Told You So" gets me every time. Such an effective groove switch by Zac.
