I would argue this actually is their most accessible album - even if it sounds like their least. They brought in A wide range of pop influences in their low end grooves.

I think the whole “sell-out” talk is less of an issue at this time. But it is truly amazing how their popularity grows as their sound mostly goes the opposite way. Pulling off the pig squeal nails that down.

This feels so different than previous bands that “big” though. Borderline less accessible than they’ve ever been.

I hate that people are upset because this band is popular. This along with Gojira at the Olympics were both giant wins for heavy music. It was amazing to see a band this heavy on national freaking television!

Even if you don't enjoy this album (for whatever reason that may be), this has all been such a watershed moment for heavy music and it just makes me excited for the future of the genre

Just exciting to think that some kid was watching that that hadn’t really heard more extreme metal and now will become a metalhead. I think back to when I was watching music videos on MTV in the morning before school and they randomly played A Box Full of Sharp Objects and it kind of changed my life. I grew up with heavier music in my house but something that feral sounding I had never heard.

TPAB is one of the musical achievements of the 2010s. A singular album that will be listened to for decades. You can feel Kendrick pour everything he loves about music into it, you can feel the time it took to painstakingly craft an album that i consider to be as perfect as any album ever made. And yet, its impact on hip-hop/the world was so minimal, so disappointing, that Kendrick returned with DAMN., an album primarily focused on the world being hopeless.

Really, really enjoyed this. Rewatched 1 and 2 before heading into this. I think Fede could’ve leaned into gross-out and gore a BIT more while still playing to the audience, but that’s just my preference.
