Talk is that we’d loan him out for a year so this is very possible. I haven’t seen him play, although I did used to like Rosenborg for some reason when they were a CL regular. Apparently he’s more of a ball carrier, but he’s been talked up as one of the best young midfielders on Europe so would be quite a coup.

I saw Simeone’s interview, and from my poor understanding of Spanish his quote on this and Real Madrid in general is so cutting and to the point. “It’s been happening for 100 years. I don’t know why anyone is surprised anymore.”

Also, (other) Arsenal fans, do you know you’re one of the few teams where a club legend coming back to coach hasn’t been up to a total disaster? You’ve got a guy who loves your club AND can do the job. A lot of other clubs can’t say that. Rooney, Lampard, Xavi…

I’m so sad is gone. They were perfect, messy TV and the show will so much less theatrical and camp as a result.

Yeah, but imagine how funny it will be if they do get sent to league two. (I’m aware that won’t happen)

[MEDIA] I know this is Arteta prop/bait but I think online Arsenal fans who have been so negative recently about Mikel need to take stock. We haven't had it this consistently good since we last won the league (although I appreciate we only have the one fa cup since he took over). You cannot expect perfection unless you are quite literally cheating. Liverpool didn't take Klopp for granted and we shouldn't take this project for granted either.

Honestly, no. It still gets viewed as a retirement league. You’ll see Messi shirts because Primark picks up cheap US sports team licenses for Europe (they also do the Giants, Bulls, Lakers, etc), but it’s not shown on TV afaik, and generally people think you must be obsessed if you know about MLS. In truth, it’s fighting an uphill battle, where there’s probably about 10 European leagues that are of higher quality, shown at a better time, easier the watch, and make more sense format wise to an European audience (pro/rel, no playoffs, etc). That said, people are definitely aware the league is improving from the days when it was on TV and the teams were League Two quality and was presented by charisma-vacuum Tim Lovejoy. The US generally has a pull here culturally (although, not in sports much) but public opinion can take a long time to change.

The words “Willian on a free” give me horrific flashbacks. Every club has crap players, but there’s never been a player I hated at Arsenal, other than him. On the plus side, he did cancel his contract for no money at the end so that made people less angry.

I’d assume the option would have to be a higher amount that they would accept in an obligation, cause otherwise I also have no idea haha. Also makes me worry that they aren’t entirely convinced.

Said it before but fuck, Myles Lewis-Skelly is unbelievable. Just pocketed Kulusevski at left back and bossed Spurs’ midfield in a NLD at 18. He’s also so calm and assured, and is incredibly press resistant. Then, when he comes off, he’s making Spurs lose their heads, and laughing at them as he gets a standing ovation. The kid is a fucking star.
