wrapped up s5 last night, on the whole I think the weakest season so far but enough good stuff to get me through. the whole arc with them stranded in the DHARMA time period felt weirdly filler-y and like they weren't sure what all the characters could do? poor Sayid, Hurley and Jin basically do nothing for half a season until the finale and they really fast forwarded through Sawyer's arc by going "hey it's been 3 years, he's grown up a bit" lol stuff I liked, the Jacob appearance was really cool and gave you just enough of him to answer some questions without losing the mystery of what his deal is. the Locke twist also really blindsided me, genuinely creepy and unexpected stuff. Terry played that dual role so fucking well and seeing him manipulate Ben instead of the other way around for once was crazy. justice for my man Faraday too, that episode was so good but it sucks to lose such an interesting character. this show just keeps one upping with the tragic deaths, the implications of Eloise knowing his whole life that she would kill him are so fucked up lmao

Watched The Man Behind The Curtain and the the cabin scene with Jacob is so hokey I love. Can’t wait to finally show the gf the final 3 episodes so I can finally talk about it not being Pennys boat. She’s going to cry her eyes out, she loves Charlie

I often think back to that scene with Desmond and Charlie in the boat right before he dives into the water. Really beautiful

this is probably my favourite album of theirs these days, especially since right after they switched to a sound I'm not really fond of at all. "Old Heart Falls" is wonderful, great stuff

I'm revisiting Katotonia's discography and every single time I keep returning to this album the most. Their sound has changed a lot over their long career, but this one must be their proggiest so I figured it'd fit here. [MEDIA] "The Night Subscriber" and "Serac" are godtier

Love when people rewatch this show and comment on their viewing because it's been so long since I've seen the show that I've honestly forgotten some things that happened, so when people mention it, I'm like, oh shit, that's right, that was crazy. It's not the same as seeing it again for the first time, but it's close.

Lost is my favorite show of all time. The ending is awesome. Keep in mind though, it’s an older show with longer seasons, so get ready for a commitment. But it’s addicting with all the twists and cliffhangers, so that shouldn’t be a problem.

I think 11 is definitely his best post-2000 book (shoutout Revival too) and has a decent shot at being top 10 overall. not too shabby considering the amount of books this man has lmao

start of s5 feels like a bit of a slog so far. it's hard to get invested in the Oceanic 6 stuff off island, all the spy stuff and the drama about Aaron is just insanely boring to me. even Desmond's episode in there was a downgrade compared to his previous two (I did enjoy Hurley throwing a hot pocket at Ben though) on island the timeline jumping is cool in theory, there's been some great moments with it like seeing Rousseau arrive and getting some more Richard Alpert (probably the single character I'm most curious about right now). but it's a little bit too chaotic to really get invested in for too long since you know it's gonna jump soon again anyway. Charlotte's death was pretty memorably fucked up though for a character I thought was pretty bland last season - Faraday is quickly turning into one of the best on the show too

the amount of time 2 spends criticising sororities is both so specific it's kinda funny and a huge waste of time the movie probably could've spent making the boyfriend and the roommate more interesting characters

the ending of 11/22/63 is phenomenal, thank Joe Hill for that one I'm up to Wizard and Glass again on my second trip to the Tower, this really might be my favourite book he's ever written

I have finished 11/22/63. It could be recency bias, but I am not afraid to say this might go down as arguably my favorite of all time. What an absolute joy to read and an ending that puts the "he can't write a good ending" to shame. I stupidly watched the show way back when and have purposely waited to read this one, but it was so, so, so worth it.
