Just completed Far Cry 5. Found the plot and characters so obnoxious that I just started skipping every cutscene. Hated the ending (and apparently I got the good one?). Still had a lot of fun with the actual gameplay though, will probably dive into 4 soon. Wanting something shorter next so going to try out Bomb Rush Cyberfunk.

DQ3 so far…is gorgeous. Its weird though how there’s just the main character, obviously the lead in the story, but the other party members are blank slates that you can basically make into any character/appearence/job you want with a character creator. It’s a cool concept and I like that custom feature, but I was hoping for more characters I interact with for the story. It’s still early though, so we’ll see

This is only tangentially related to video games, but Epoch has a new album out and it sounds like it could be the soundtrack to a Persona game (Track 3, Sparrows, would work perfectly for after school exploration music). They previously did the soundtrack for Paradise Killer (one of my favourite video game soundtracks). It's a really fun album if you're into that vibe. [MEDIA]

One of the things I find most annoying about the review in the context of Pierre's catalogue is that he seems to have so much distaste for Kendrick's contradictions and hypocracy in ways that he doesn't for the negative shit that many artists that he covers says or does. It reads as if he has a specific bone to pick with Kendrick rather than as a good faith critique.

Like I said yesterday it’s possibly my favorite open world in gaming. The environment and atmosphere is perfectly executed and I think the story is extremely solid with Pagan clearing the rest of the series villains by miles

finished control just now. still not entirely sure what happened lol but I know it was a fun little ride and I’m excited to play Alan wake and Alan wake 2 now. The game has a great atmosphere and level design, combat has some very cool concepts that fail to really gel together. Some combat encounters were insane with how many enemies they throw at you at once and it gets overwhelming quick and I feel like it just lacks fluidity at times. Other than that this was a really nice short game. Need to knock out the dlc at some point too

it’s VERY linear. I still loved it tho. I thought they added a lot of little quality of life things too that were nice. I’ve heard that lords of the fallen has pretty bad issues with the numbers of enemies in areas - did you find that to be the case?

Stalker 2 is very good so far. The freedom given after the prologue is exactly what Stalker is all about. The gunplay is far better than some claimed in their reviews. Maybe it was worse before launch, who knows. I played through the first few hours twice, one in Ukrainian and one in English. Both are excellent. The English localization probably won't get much love because most will play it in its native language but it's incredibly good.
