Would rather have Voyuerist 2.0 over what they’re currently doing tbh

you said the album was supposedly voyeurist 2.0 and i think this is the reason for them scrapping it. i loved these 2 singles from 2023 but i was feeling that these songs were b-sides from voyeurist with better guitar work, and the band says in interviews that they like to reinvent themselves in each new album and i haven't got that vibe from them with let go and lifeline (these songs still go hard and i wouldn't complain if they released an voyeurist 2.0)

It was completed shortly after those singles, yes. I'm thinking that Reddit person had a ton of info on the scrapped album and got in a little trouble with the band. It was supposedly Voyeurist 2.0 and from what I had heard of it, that description was accurate and also included an acoustic version of Lifeline. Maybe we'll hear it one day. I really don't know what would make them want to scrap it entirely.

Could the scrapped album be what they were working on when they released Let Go and Lifeline (Drowning)?

Nice to see some The Oh Hellos tracks there. Not a name I see on Chorus much (if ever!)

I made a “deconstruction” playlist recently with a lot of those new Underoath songs. And while there will always be people who are in a stage of their life for whom these songs will be helpful, I do agree and hope the band can eventually move on (whatever that looks like for them lyrically).
