Why is it purity politics to refuse to vote for a zionist but not purity politics to refuse to vote for anti-choice candidate?

 

It means you have no idea where he stands on every single issue so you can't really say something like "X person who isn't a policitian and has never had to put forward a complete platform would be better" on every single issue. If it came out tomorrow that Kaepernick (who I respect and admire for everything he's done, by the way) supported, say, Obamacare in its current form, with zero changes, and was against moving toward any form of single-payer healthcare system, then what?

 

What if Kaepernick came out tomorrow and said he's a Yankees fan? Idk, man. Then, I would disagree with him. Lol.

 

I mean if it turned out that we were wrong about him having better politics then no, you're right, people probably wouldn't support him. But just going off of what we know rn I think he'd do alright with the left

 

Right, all I'm saying is that before we start talking about people in that way we should remember that, again just for example, a lot of people didn't realize Bernie held the stance on Israel that he does, and wouldn't have supported him previously if they did.

As an aside, I do think it would be great if Colin ran for office some day because he is clearly being shafted in the NFL and he deserves better than that. Although he'd probably have a tough time of it just because football is so revered in this country and anyone who gets quote-unquote "politics" involved in "the game" immediately becomes public enemy #1 in the eyes of many "fans." I'd like to see him continue to make a difference in some way, though.
