Which usually comes around to "jobs" and then the kids can usually come up with the counters about how immigrants help the economy and take jobs nobody wants without my help.

 

i worked at summer camps for like 6 straight summers and let me tell you something unequivocally: middle school aged children are the worst people on the planet

 

Fuck that shit i came here legal and it was hard and expensive and im still not a citizen I wish I came here illegally

 

Also legal is a terrible framework because a lot of awful stuff is technically legal

Relations with (ugh) a 16-year-old in my dear home state of NJ, for instance.

 

My mom is republican and my dad a liberal and I didn't even know until college because they never talked politics when I was kid that I remember. Still didn't stop me from being a shitty teen doofus

 

This used to be the split in my house until the Republicans went fucking insane. Now we all hate Trump and the republicans with a passion.

 

I wish my dad was liberal, he thinks we should deport everyone that commits a crime and that (hold onto your seats) black people should be forced to do labor while incarcerated because it's in their DNA.

Welp.

 

My mom hated trump during the primaries but ended up voting for him, now thinks people complain too much and he can't be corrupt because "you can't buy him". It's hard to get through to her, she just reads red state online and thinks immigrants can't assimilate, so we argue for hours whenever she comes up and gets lunch.

 

Yeeeeah that's their business and her choice. In hindsight my ex-wife should not have reconciled with me after I cheated* but no fucking way will I ever tolerate anyone ragging on her for making that decision.



*I was awful. I admit it. I own it. I do a living amends for it.
