I posted this on Reddit lastnight, but thought you guys might think it's kinda cool too. It's a newspaper clipping from the show I was at in 2000, when I first saw Blink. I still have this clipping tucked away in my "memorabilia box" under my bed. You may have to zoom in to read it.

 

Yup I completely agree with you. I mentioned numerous times how I'm sick of hearing First Date live but when they started to play the intro at my show the crowd went nuts and there was so much energy with that song that I didn't care. Sure I wish the set lists would change but yeah once I'm at the show listening it doesn't matter to me anymore because they put on a fun show.

 

Yeah don't get me wrong, I had a blast the couple of times I've seen them post-reunion, but I also hadn't looked at the setlist beforehand. I saw this tour's set on Travis' snapchat, and I think it wasn't so much that I didn't like the song selection (I can still get down to "First Date"), but it was just that there weren't going to be very many surprises. Almost paying for a repeat experience.

 

it's interesting that "Adam's Song" was on their list of songs to at least practice for tour, but they aren't playing it live yet. they must be feeling like they can play it again if they are even thinking about practicing it. i'd love for that song to come back to the set.

Adams Song> Down and I Miss You (maybe even Violence at times)

 

I'd take I MIss You over even Adam's Song. I Miss You's outro is the best moment of Blink's entire set.

 

If I remember correctly there were tons of songs on Travis snapchat practice list for the original California tour that never got played. I wonder if they're just practicing those songs to see how it would sound live and then scrapping them if it just doesn't work or what but yeah bringing back Adam's Song would be great. I understand it might be a difficult song for them to play but I think it's such an important song for the band and also the fans that it should be played, ditto for STFTK (or swap those songs out or something you know?).

 

Adam's Song > their entire catalog (just cause it's easily my favorite blink song lol)

 

I'll give it the live outro (The pepsi smash outro), but I never really got into that song, especially the album version. Shame they didn't do anything with the bridge or outro in that. Plus, I always felt it was boring and was never a huge fan of the lyrics, especially Toms haha.

 

As I suspected, HISALP is not getting any traction on alternative radio. Should have pushed Sober instead

So he apologizes for that but the band never said anything about postponing the Knoxville show to go to the festival they canceled? A little disheartened about that actually

 

Totally agree. Especially when Tom was still in the band, that I Miss You outro would give me chills. Always wished they recorded a live version of it (with a shit load of autotune done on Tom's vocal track, of course).

 

To be fair, I'm sure it's the band's team putting them in and pulling them out of shows and whatnot and the band just goes with it. They're just there to play the songs, not any of the booking/business side. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the band wasn't even aware that they cancelled your Knoxville show. They're probably just told where to go and when they need to be there. I mean, I don't know, obviously, but that's just what I assume it's like for them and every other big band out there.

 

Fair point. I mean not actually that upset really, since mine was just postponed and not outright canceled. I was mainly kidding, though I had hoped we'd hear something. At least I'm not cussing at them like some people are in their comments lol
