Listen to the new song a few times now, not really sure what to think about it. Not sure I like it but don't think it's unlistenable. Hopefully the rest of the album is better. I didn't like the American Beauty/American Psycho single but liked the rest of that album.

 

I really like the new song because none of it goes where you think it will. The verse into the prechorus is weird and obviously the chorus is out of left field. I've seen people say the chorus is too long but that is because it sounds like it is going to end and ramps back up so your ear is expecting to head into the verse again. It's great.

 

I think that I like the song, but it is definitely a bit jarring on first listen, so we’ll see how I feel about it in a week or two. Either way, I have huge respect for the fact that they continue to change their sound. I may or may not always like it, but it is at least interesting. I don’t think that putting out another album that sounds like AB/AP part two would do this band any favors.

 

Your daughter has a really cool name and has the right attitude towards this stuff. *fist bump*

 

Thanks. Eisley is one of my favorite bands and the name just jumped out one day and we decided to name her Eisley. The only regret I have is we live in a mid sized town and Eisley actually came for a random show and we saw the show, but before the we saw the band at mcdonalds randomly while my ex-wife was pregnant with Eisley and we were to scared to go disturb them while they were eating, but we really wanted to get a picture with them and tell them what we were naming our daughter. It's pretty funny how "star struck" we were when we saw them.

 

I'd imagine Eisley would have dug the story as long as you weren't obnoxious about it and just said hey to them. They're not like Blink 182 big and use to getting recognized often.

The song really confused me but I didn't dislike it. On second listen, I like it. It's always me hoping for IOH or FUCT kind of poppiness, I just miss something I really want to clap along too. I hope the album's diverse though and certainly not electronica heavy, even though that song itself is real cool. It won't hit with fans, but it could pull some new one's as a single. I think Patrick Stump's voice is the best thing they got and the song doesn't use it enough, I want to hear him sing but not screech. I'm excited about it still.

 

Ok so after listening to the song in my car a couple times, I changed my mind. I don't like it anymore.

Dammit, I love it.

 

Yeah this is going to huge live and a fantastic part of their set

 

It's crazy to hear people go nuts about Fall Out Boy and Paramore's direction, but even so, these guys want to stay relevant and that sound is what's going on right now. A return to pop-punk just makes them niche old people bands, I don't think they can go wrong either way though.

It feels like a perfect album/set opener too.

 

I really like the new Paramore song, but couldn't even finish FOB.

Hard times, indeed.

 

Hot take: I've found positive traits in all six of their records, I'll probably like the seventh as well

Listening to this new song reminds of the first time I heard to "The Phoenix" and "My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark". I wasn't into it and thought they were weird. Then the album came out and I was like "hell yeah" because the rest of the album was better than those two songs. Hopefully the same goes for this album.

New song isn't something I particularly enjoy but I also feel like it's not something that stands on its own and needs the context of the entire album behind it.

 

Yeah this is YnM is going to be a great opener for the album, especially after the context

 

Just getting around to listening to "Young and Menace". What the hell did I just listen to? Fall Out Boy?

 

In an interview Pete said that the song is kind of how Patrick's mind works. That little tidbit makes me enjoy it more because I can relate to that.

I just realized that Immortals is probably one of my least favorite songs they've ever made
