Tackle is definitely a bigger need and I like Dawkins but not over Lamp. Lamp/Linder/Cann is a very good young interior.

Why? He was a consensus #2 CB before the injury. All accounts show his injury is ahead of schedule in progression. He's going to be fine.

  3. We need someone to play right away.

    Why though?

The Eagles aren't going to compete for much in 2017.

    Why?

That was my whole point, this is not a playoff team in 2017.

If you can get a Top 2 corner in the draft with zero red flags off the field and multiple doctors saying his prognosis is good for a quick return to normal football activity....I don't get why you don't do it.

Even if the Eagles were to sneak into the playoffs, they're a quick out. This is not a championship caliber team right now.

TBQH, I'm not sure he even is there at 43.

Yep, Eagles are still very much an 8-8 team with their level of talent, schedule, and division rivals. I can see some improvements, but not ones significant enough to win the division and make a playoff push.

The Eagles can still show they're competitive and not make the playoffs. Take Sidney Jones in the second round and plan for a stronger 2018 and beyond.

    Eagles wish list for today/tomorrow

    Round 2: Kevin King/Sidney Jones/Chidobe Awuzie/Budda Baker
    Round 3: Ahkello Witherspoon/Cameron Sutton
    Round 4: Best WR/RB available.
Round 5: Best WR/RB available (whichever one they don't take in the 4th)

Man, I'd be so scared of my team passing on an RB right now.

I have no idea who I want at 25 2nd/3rd round.

I wanna go OT or safety but have no idea who will actually be available at those spots.

Steelers have three picks in the next couple rounds. Have no idea who I want, but it'd be nice to pick up a CB to compliment Burns or an ILB to replace Timmons. CB definitely being on the top of list.

Bills going CB round one throws me way off. They need WLB, RT, WR, maybe a safety, maybe a TE and DT depth...just fill 3 holes today, best players available.

Very happy with the Browns moves last night. Get the best player in the draft, and then a player I really like in Peppers. I thought when they traded with GB it was for a QB (given how the contracts work), but I was pleasantly surprised with Njoku being the pick. Still, part of me wanted to gamble with Foster (touche SF). I like the idea of Barnidge and Njoku though helping in the pass game, along with Coleman, Britt, and Duke Johnson. Definitely still a work in progress (namely QB), but I like the way they have added a lot of good players since FA. With Collins, Garrett, and Peppers the defense has gotten very athletic since this time last year.

Plus Ogbah and Nassib as pass rushers too.

I think the most exciting thing about the Watson pick to me is it's a QB we're not going to give up on. We're going to go into this season with Watson on the roster, he's likely going to start a lot of games (let's be real, Savage is not only subpar but has worse injury history than Romo), and then next season, he's going to be starting again. We haven't had consecutive seasons with a real QB in so goddamn long.

Browns are gonna have a great defense and live and die by shit runningbacks

Not only that, but due to our FA losses we likely get compensatory picks we can use to get back into round 2 next year and minimize our losses, and we've got a GM in Sashi who has a shit ton of picks and a great repertoire with us now. If we have to move through the Browns to make moves, we have that flexibility, and I have a feeling that's gonna pay off at some point.

My favorite part of the Watson trade is even if he becomes a great QB, he'll never be a scary QB.

Which is perfectly fine because the rest of our team is scary enough. I can't think of one player I would've been happier with in the first round that was drafted after us, and I'm not waiting next year for a QB.

Bears, Chiefs, and Texans all made really dumb trades. For players who would still have been there.

    Sources?

Chiefs traded up for Patrick Mahomes. Bears traded up for Mitch Trubisky. What tells you Deshaun Watson would've still been there after those 2 moves happened?

Yep, they both had good rookie years. I think Nassib is still pretty raw so not having to force him in a starting role is nice. I assume the base 4-3 line will be Garrett, Shelton, Bryant (when healthy), and Ogbah. Nassib can be a rotational/situational guy as he continues to grow. I think Garrett getting a lot of attention will allow to Ogbah have a more natural progression as well. He only 5.5 sacks, so for us to go into this year expecting him to be our go to sack player would have been off.

  25. And SF reportedly had up to 10 teams calling for their pick. Yeah, SF wasn't taking Trubisky so it's easy to say "he would've been there at 3" but SF could've easily taken an offer from another team who would then take Trubisky. Chicago is completely sold on him and were forced to beat other offers.
