    Real impressed with "Blurred Vision"

  2. This is definitely a step up from the last two albums. I'm getting a fun s/t, S&S vibe from this. I can see these songs being a blast live.

Agreed. These guys were probably the first band I really fell in love with in the early 2000's and it's pretty cool to say I'm looking forward to giving a new album a proper spin in 2017

Finally listened to this for the first time this morning. I am loving it. It reminds me of a Coming Home Part 2 type of album. It is going to be on repeat in my car all summer.

    A (Cancelled) Dork Prestigious

It's definitelyComing Home's experimentation-meets-Sticks and Stones' classic NFG sound and that is just...just great.

Surprisingly not all that in to this. The opener may be my favorite. I'm disappointed in "The Sound of Two Voices"... everyone talked about it as polarizing or weird but it's just kinda there for me. Not a bad record but found myself bored 8 songs in. Maybe I need to wait until it's not raining outside.

Yeah, I don't get the love for Two Voices. Easily my least favorite on this album.

  8. I like The Sound of Two Voices. There's probably only one track that I don't enjoy that much, and it's Barbed Wire (though I don't hate it).

Best tracks: Your Jokes Aren't Funny, Party On Apocalypse, Happy Being Miserable, Say It Don't Spray It, The Cheapest Thrill

  9. Indeed! Such a bummer that MCS is no more, because I think having them tour with NFG would be sweet

Finally listened to the album in full this morning, I avoided the leaks. Man I love it, probably my favorite album since Coming Home. Might be as high as my 4th favorite NFG album. After a couple of so-so and dud albums really happy with this one.

"The Sound of Two Voices" was like that with me at first. I wasn't really into it and thought people were overhyping it, but then all of a sudden I just connected with it and now I love it. Still wouldn't say it's my favorite on there, but just give it some time.

haha yeah I'm just picturing his 'thrust the mic in the crowd and give the 'LET ME HEAR YOU' gesture' for much of that song

Hell no. Coming Home shows impressive evolution of their sound but half the songs are pretty meh.

Hahahha this thread is hilarious. I've never seem such drastic different opinions when it comes to albums and now for specific songs for this current album .

NFG was my favorite band for over a decade, but i really, really disliked Resurrection and I'd consider this to be about on par with that. Perhaps it's just that I've gotten older and different things speak to me now, but lyrically, I think these last two records are really poor. Not that they've ever been a band known for exceptionally strong writing, but the loss of Steve's voice evidently effected my ability to enjoy their music since. I really wish that weren't the case.

On a positive note, the production is really good and I do like the synth.

  21. I don't think he ever sang, but he did write lyrics.

And I suppose, you never know which songs he may have been the main songwriter for.

I'm not talking about his physical voice, but rather, his voice in the sense of his writing.

  23. how's the CD packaging for this? i'm excited to go pick it up after work!

Really enjoying this so far. Say It Don't Spray It could literally be something out of Sticks and Stones era. So great.

I just gave this a album a first listen and I have to say that I enjoyed it. It's a very solid pop-punk effort from a band who's been making music for a long time.
