Sorry About Tomorrow by Hot Rod Circuit is a top 5 early 2000's emo record, but I like maybe 5 songs of their outside of that

My first band ever was called Sorry About Tomorrow and then they released that album 6 months later.

*shrug* we sucked so I didn't mind changing.

I thought about this recently too, it's weird. Even as someone who has done a 180 on them I can't really explain it

its no biggie, it happens to all of us. Say Anything was that for me. I fully realize that SAs music means a lot to some people and I dont tarnish that, but I cant really stand that band anymore haha.

Im guessing the JJR situation didnt help, although the band has rectified that it doesnt change the fact that at least half the band handled it poorly, and while I disagree with the "their albums are starting to get samey" critique I can kinda see where people are coming from. It is what it is, they still mean the world to me and I'm waiting on baited breath for LP6.

Yeah, I think for me it was probably that the JJR stuff happened, and then NCTH came out on the heels of that and it didn't do anything for me. I'm not even that optimistic that whatever they release next will be something that grabs me, but maybe I shouldn't be such a pessimist. They were bar none my favorite band for a couple years though and it's really weird that it turned so quickly.

Maroon 5 - Songs About Jane

Every so often, Adam Levine will do something that gives me hope. Then he'll do something else that I hate more than anything he's ever done. It's fascinating.

Albums I really enjoy from bands' discographies I otherwise don't care about:

Fall Out Boy - Folie à Deux
    Fireworks - Oh, Common Life
La Dispute - Room's Of The House

I know it's possible to tell stories thru music and it doesnt always have to come from personal experience yada yada but I get irrationally annoyed when artists who have never struggled financially in their lives have songs where they romanticize being broke. Stop pandering to me and my student loans!!

I hate that Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi and Billy Joel got rich off songs about blue collar people, Tommy and Gina can't afford your damn tickets anymore Bon Jovi

It reminds me of the Bo Burnham country song where rich artists sing like they're fieldhands or something haha. I mean I get it cause people can still relate to those songs and stuff but personally whenever I hear pop songs talking about not paying rent to go party or something I'm like gtfo lol

yeah I'm not saying they didn't earn it or live it per se, just a disconnect, and obviously they're all talented and it's not entirely on them
