I'm setting summer goals for my various fandoms. My comedy goal is to get through all of Monty Python's Flying Circus. Terry Jones' dementia has really saddened me and I feel compelled to revisit everything under the sun. There is a real argument to be made that being shown The Holy Grail and Life of Brian when I was 12 or so opened my eyes to alt-comedy, or at least comedy outside of SNL and early Adam Sandler flicks.

 

Chapo going to Harvard and centering the show on a March Madness style bracket of the most evil Harvard grads is fucking me up rn

 

I thought I was going to be immune to FOMO for the special guest tonight at the second Chris Rock Cleveland show because Arsenio was so special and then Chris goes out and has both Arsenio AND Chappelle come out tonight smh

 

I know, THIS is what I was referring to in my previous post about the other big name openers he was bringing out and why I was initially a little disappointed with Arsenio (although he was great) for the first night. Was really, really hoping for Dave the first night. I'm betting if he would have stuck with the original 1 Cleveland date (second date wasn't added until much later) Dave would have been there since it was the only night. Damn, I wish I was there.

 

I read the description of this episode when it came up on my feed before I could listen and my first thought was "Kissinger" and I wasn't even sure he fucking went there but I was 100% right

 

I started with the Best Of's and the Halloween episodes, haha

 

Yea I told her Halloween and Christmas eps are usually solid

Gonna nerd out with a mild buzz on here. I've been a lone improv fan for half of my life. None of my friends give a shit, it's always been my own thing. My girlfriends buddy came over tonight and brought his girlfriend. Turns out she joined an improv class a few weeks ago, and there is a 2 day improv fest downtown this weekend and she's doing her first 15 minute set there. $20 for a full day, including on-stage jams and classes. I knew of Mop & Bucket Co in my area, but most of their actual classes are 2 hours away even though their shows are in my area, so it's never been viable.

Totally ready to dive in and it feels so good.

 

This is going back a month or two but did most people really like the second new Chappelle special (the one in Texas) better than the first? I thought the first one was a lot better

 

Both were average at best. I though the second one was slightly better.

 

If you're not watching the My Brother My Brother and Me Seeso show, you're fucking up... big time.

 

I liked The Age of Spin better personally as well but I enjoyed them both.

Does TJ do the voice live? Or is it him in the costume even? The show is funny but I'm curious how it works

I'm gonna wind up sounding like a broken record, but the MBMBAM TV show is sooooooo good. I can't stress it enough. The teen episode in particular.

I'd never known of the McElroy's until a month or two ago and then I decided to give MBMBAM the podcast a go. Listened to the first ten episodes (and liked them) but wasn't ready to commit to the full 350 episode back log, so I decided to jump in at 340 and work to current. Did that and then decided to watch the TV show. Did that and now I'm going back to podcast episode 11.

Does anyone here still listen to Harmontown and know why they aren't going to do shows at Meltdown anymore and where are they going? I gave up on the show a while ago because the audience is the WOORSSTT but if they're moving in studio or something then I am back in

 

Meltdown itself is moving to a new location without a performance space (something to do with the whole block being sold for redevelopment) Harmontown is moving to starburns castle in Burbank.
