From looking at the videos it was a basic set list. But man they look to be having fun.

 

They did only have 45 minutes but yeah it looked good

 

They sound tight too.

 

They sounded so good based on the Instagram videos I've seen. Love Matt's lyric change in Stupid Kid:
There are things that used to make me laugh
But now they're deeply buried in the past
I left them there so long ago
I replaced you with booze and blow

 

Seeing the three of them together melts my heart. Also, Matt doing backing vocals on Emma again is awesome.

 

Same. I love Blink with Matt but nothing beats the Trio. I do think playing all these huge ass stadium shows has made his overall playing better. I'm stoked he gets to bring that back to Alkaline.

I'm with you. I love him in Blink, but nothing can beat what him and Dan do together.

 

Matt and Dan together is just right. I know Matt now sings with Mark, but Dan has that voice where no one can contrast it better than Matt. They are a match made in Hell.

 

Was on Dan's show last night at this tiny venue in Boston.Made me missing Trio even more,Danny played band's songs like 50% of his set and holy shit he's just such great musician.totally didn't expect him start with Emma.i got to talk to him after show and he said there is definitely new record coming.he was really REALLY nice to everybody....then Matt Pryor threw me his setlist haha what a great night

 

I really upset he didn't swing by my side of Michigan this tour.

 

Saw Dan tonight on Long Island. He played Waiting By Myself for me and my gf, and I asked him after the show if he was gonna do another ER record while he waits for Matt and he shrugged and said "yeah probably".

Setlist was a real good mix of everything. A MICF song, a FHTI song, 2 Good Mourning songs, a couple Remains song, a MSIT/BW song, a few from each of the solo records, and a couple of covers with Matt Pryor at the end.

 

Dan should ask Derek to help write a new ER record while they wait. That way it wouldn't seem like, a here we go again type of project. I'm sure they have Alkaline songs they can set aside. I think Jeff Rosenstock and some of his band recorded with Dan on the last record, but I'm sure Derek would love to collaborate on a new project himself. If they want to bring some friends in to record that's always cool. But I think that would at least make it seem familiar but fresh at the same time.

 

That would be awesome....honestly I'll never forget his look when I told him that I really wish for new Trio record.He had really sad eyes....but maybe I just making that bigger than it was

 

Yeah, I bet Dan and Derek really want to do a Trio record for a while now. They seem to be pretty open about that, but Matt is too tied up. I don't think anyone expected Blink to make such a successful record with Matt and now that timeline basically extends at least another year with the album re-release.

 

I mean, Alk3 is the money maker for those guys. I doubt Dan wants to keep touring solo to make $$ and be away from his family, would probably rather do a big tour with the Trio and then have a bunch of months off to chill...not to mention whatever revenue album sales pull in, not sure how much that is these days.

 

I'm sure the money is nicer in Trio, but I'd imagine their significant others have more stable income and benefits since they have kids but I could be wrong.

 

Yeah but I was thinking of that + time away from family....probably has to tour more often solo to make as much as he would from a bigger tour with the Trio, and his song writing has shown us he definitely doesn't like being away from his family haha

 

Agree with all of that. My point was to suggest he can sort of do the solo thing and not worry about the money as much because he's built up Alkaline equity and his wife most likely has the stable income (pure speculation). The biggest drawback is like you said, the touring.

 

See I would love that. Derek already played drums for him on tour and it was awesome.

 

Been listening to "Maybe I'll Catch Fire" this weekend. Love that album so much. Still hope I get to see them perform it in full one day. Didn't get the chance to last time.
