I'd also add to this that Tony Blair and all the Blairites left a bitter taste in everyones mouth after their rein in the late 90's / early 2000's, which I think made quite a few people forget how worse the Conservatives can be.

My bad. "The left" carries a mccarthy-era mantle in the US and that narrative flows between the media and the state in this stupid bastardized amalgam of worthlessness that somehow is lost by the time it reaches people's ears. At every opportunity, "the interests of the people of the United States of America" will suspiciously align with the interests of "the world" in a way that somehow always benefits american corporations. Anytime i see a news source that is somehow affiliated with american capitalism, i mentally bury it in dirt and piss on it before reading or listening to it.

 

I mean I'm not endorsing that news source at all (I don't know anything about it tbh), someone on my timeline retweeted the article and I just thought it was a mostly fair analysis of the situation ahead. Or maybe it's because journalism in the UK is of such a low standard I'm easily impressed. I do agree with the sentiment of what you're saying btw.

 

Corbyn's speech just now was fucking brilliant. This is exactly why I voted for him.
