I appreciate Sunday headliners that allow me to leave early. No, I've never been a Jawbreaker fan.

The dream is The Lawrence Arms / The Menzingers / The Flatliners aftershow

 

Denver lineups usually get the biggest headliner and the 3rd biggest out of the 3. System of a Down and Modest Mouse in 2015 (no No Doubt), The Cure and The National in 2014 (no Jane's) and Blink and the Replacements in 2013 (No Fall Out Boy). If Denver happened this year, they would've gotten NIN/Jawbreaker.

 

Alright, so we've gone from Friday only to a weekend to Friday and after shows.

 

I wonder how big the rest of these bands will be?

 

Not that big. You put out the big ones for the weekend tickets.

 

That's what I figured. I'm assuming the next 25 bands will be filler for the bottom part of the lineup.

 

We got System of A Down on the second wave 2 years ago. I'd expect 2-3 big acts

 

I actually usually like more of the smaller bands on these lineups than the bigger ones. Excited to see if some undergroundish emo or alt rock bands get announced

 

Now, were they in the headliner spot as "?????" or did they bump an original headliner down?

 

Honestly don't recall

 

I think they were "?????" but I could absolutely be wrong.

I'd definitely expect at least one big name left, although those headliners are definitely locked in. But yea the majority will be smaller things, which is honestly the part I think this lineup needs.

The headliners are fine (although I'd switch Paramore with QOTSA but that's just me). The undercard is missing some power in my opinion.

 

I removed the "Chicago" from the thread title since this is the only Riot Fest this year.

 

Yea I'm surprised that Paramore isn't headlining to be honest. Although QOTSA is one of the bands I'm most excited for, so I disagree there. But yea the top couple lines are really good. I just think the bottom half is uninspired for Riot Fest, so I've got high hopes for the next wave.

 

So who were the 11 clues in the video?

I think QOTSA should be closing out the 2nd main stage on Saturday with Paramore closing out the first but hey, it is what it is. Did they say when the next 25 bands were getting released?

 

Paramore will still be closing out the night whatever night they play

Great line up. Okay....im probably nothing to go because nin and queens...while I dig them...im not huge fans of either so.

I do agree with whoever said that the last few lines feel a bit uninspired.


Still amazing lineup though. Jawbreaker!!
