As far as pop punk bands, id definitely take Yellowcard over Blink, NFG, and Trio. STD are good but they're one of those bands I have to be in a certain mood to listen to, so they've never been a huge favorite.

 

Yellowcard were always way too Mid-Tempo for me. Their fast songs seemed forced. I'll take NFG or 90's blink over Yellowcard any day.

 

Alkaline, Blink, Green Day, and NFG are tops for me. And JEW, if they count. I need to listen to more STD.

 

Yellowcard definitely evolved to a more creative place over their career than NFG or Blink minus Untitled. And I just like their songs more, shrug

 

I don't see JEW qualifying but they're above every band in this conversation that isn't Green Day

Face To Face is criminally underrated.

 

JEW doesn't qualify, but as far as band vs band they're better than Green Day

 

pop punk....hm. Blink, TBS, Trio, JEW, Yellowcard. In that order

 

JEW is not pop punk

 

Trio, blink, Face To Face, Bayside, Sum 41

That'd be my top 5 if Bayside qualifies lol

 

i didn't mean to offend. I'm glad you love them. I always found them super boring, compared to most early 2000 pop punk bands.

 

They're both top three bands for me but I've had more history with Green Day. Can't go wrong either way.

No worries! The first few times I tried I didn't see what the fuss was about, but now I think they have one of the best discographies from the scene.

 

Five pop punk bands? Green Day, Yellowcard, All Time Low, Less Than Jake, MxPx. Super easy.

I love green day. But they have soooo many songs I don't like at all. Yet heaps I love. And a so strong live

I'd also stick ADTR in at 5th if just their pop/punk songs counted
Tonight alive were climbing with a bullet but have stalled. Neck Deep on the climb. Skyway were hectic til they split up after 1 album. Ditto Years Gone By

 

I'd never even heard of 3 and 5.

 

I don't think I could name 5 pop punk bands TBH

 

How does everyone feel about mxpx? They were the band that really kind of got me into punk rock. Revisiting some of their stuff in recent years has made me feel like 13 is an optimal time to like them, but I've got nothing but love for those guys

 

Guys maybe I'm dumb but I don't get the JEW hype.

 

Everything since The Ever Passing Moment is meh, but their run up until then is nearly flawless. Great band

 

Oh...no...

 

I really enjoy a few of their songs. But most tunes were never those earworms that other bands did for me. This annoys friends of mine when I say this about them and I feel the same for descendants, pennywise, and a few pre blink era legends


I love JEW to pieces. But not everything is for everyone. So it's ok not to get the hype. I hate Drake and he's mega popular
